I learned recently that I happened to have known someone who had been a medic on Omaha beach.

I’ve met two men who each served in WWII, Korea, and Nam.

I met two WWII veterans who were waiting for a Sebring landing of CAF B-17 and B-24. Both had parachuted into a field, where German soldiers had the drop on them, and were waiting to capture them. Motioned to the fence between them, the two were shown a roadside sign that read, "Minen".
