Do you really consider it THAT big a deal making such a small effort to potentially save another person's life? It's easy to say after the fact, when the shark didn't actually attack, after it had creeped up on the woman, that there was "nothing to worry about". It's a common excuse for people who rarely if ever bother helping other people out.
Like seeing someone blindly walking out into traffic and (luckily) not getting struck by a car, "See, I told you there was nothing to worry about"! "And you wanted me to get off my fat lazy butt and warn them about the cars and trucks they clearly didn't see coming.
I don’t believe that the woman was in danger, and the result proves I was correct.
Do you believe that resort areas encourage people being eaten by sharks?
There are LOTS of sharks that are quite large that eat microscopic plankton.
I bet you jump up on chair when you see a mouse, don’t you?
A man from California died after an apparent shark attack in Hawaii on Saturday, officials said.
The Maui Fire Department said the incident happened around 9 a.m. at Honokowai Point near Kaanapali Beach Park area on Maui as the man was swimming about 60 yards from shore.
The 65-year-old man was pulled ashore with injuries that were traumatic, life-threatening and consistent with a shark attack, fire officials told KHON2.
Allison Keller, who witnessed the man being pulled to shore, told Hawaii News Now the man looked unconscious as he was transferred to a gurney.
As we got closer, I saw some blood on his stomach and then I got looking a little bit more and his wrist, it looked like the skin on his wrist was just torn off, Keller told Hawaii News Now.
And then I got looking closer and his entire left leg from his knee down was just missing. There was no blood or anything.
Maui officials said the man was swimming in water roughly 20 to 25 feet deep. Winds at the time were light, with 1-foot surf and clear waters at the time.
