The top Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee is sounding the alarm about the new powers that President Donald Trump has granted to Attorney General William Barr.
Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, in a letter obtained by The Associated Press, said he fears Trump is giving Barr the right to selectively declassify certain information for purposes of political gain. He asked that the leaders of the nations spy agencies contact lawmakers if Barrs investigation threatens their work.
Trump last week granted Barr the power to review and potentially release classified information as he analyzes the origins of the FBIs Russia investigation. Trump has said it is time to investigate the investigators now that special counsel Robert Mueller has concluded his work, and he has directed the intelligence community to quickly and fully cooperate with Barrs review.
Warners letter is dated Friday, the day after Trumps directive, and was addressed to the heads of the FBI, the CIA, the NSA and the director of national intelligence. It warned that politically driven investigations such as Barrs could endanger sources, damage relations with foreign intelligence agencies and drive career professionals from government service.

Warners gonna warn.
What hypocrites these leaky democrats are!!!
Warner is a big, smelly piece of Obama.
Fear, fear of being exposed. Congress is so corrupt that they will do anything to hide their crimes
FUMW. And that goes for your butt boy Burr too.
Warner is up to his neck in this, of course he’s worried.
For his own neck.

The power is the President’s. The only thing new is the delegation, and it is for a specific task in a narrowly defined scope.
“What happens if the Intelligence services disagree?”, I’ve heard it argued. Then, they’ll have a conversation.
Warner is likely the target of investigation.
He should recuse himself from all related matters.
That’s how it worked for Sessions.
he spent 2 years telling us that the president was going to be charged with treason. dont expect us to start listening now.

I dont know about career professionals but Id be perfectly happy if ALL Stasi wannabes were driven from government service the sooner, the better. America would be a far better place with their absence.
Barr has no expanded powers. Trump has constitutional powers. Barr is merely executing Trump’s legal orders- nobody has a right to overrule Trump on a classification decision.
Just think of “career professional” as a euphemism for “Stasi wannabe”, “swamp-dweller” etc.
The rats are in a panic.
Hmmmmmm, what's that saying about guilty dogs? LOL! I imagine Warner's plenty guilty.
Keep barkin', Marky boy.
Warner is a coup participant and stands to hang as a traitor, AP forgot to mention that as a slight oversight I’m sure.
Keep praying that the Lord will continue to reveal corruption at all levels of government. May God be glorified in all things.

Who gives a damn, the Democrats and media are spoiled brats thinking everyone hangs on their latest lies. Releasing information that is politically damaging to someone is hardly a national crisis.
Releasing information cannot possibly be such a bad thing.
