The subject of the TLC show “The World’s Fattest Man” is fleeing the US for Britain — for an estimated $137,000 in free health care.
Paul Mason, who weighed almost 1,000 pounds before having gastric band surgery in 2009, has been almost constantly hospitalized in Athol, Massachusetts, after starting to regain weight after a bad breakup.

“We all fall apart when things get tough. Doing it over here in America has been the worst thing I could have done because there’s no support. But there is in the UK,” he told The Sun.
Comparing binge-eating to having an orgasm, Paul told the paper, “You don’t choose this lifestyle. The addiction never goes away. You don’t conquer it. You can just keep it at bay.”
Paul, 58, who now weighs more than 500 pounds from a low of 275, told The Sun that he needs surgery to replace his knees, repair eight stomach hernias and adjust his bypass.

I don’t really care what Medicare did. The other poster was slamming the NHS by saying they imposed rules on their patients and had long waiting periods. All I did was point out we do the same thing and because nobody has the guts to get rid of Obamacare it’s going to get worse. The man I mentioned who died because he didn’t meet the standards for the list wasn’t some 500 pound blob like the guy in the original article. He had a pot belly like a lot of men his age. They were just looking for excuses not to spend money on him. Sara Palin had a name for it.
They do that here too. My neighbor is about 100 pounds overweight and can’t get a hysterectomy until she loses some weight. Going on 4 years now. Lol. Obviously the surgery is not life threatening or I would imagine they’d do it regardless. It’s not knee surgery after all.

Being obese makes going under anesthesia very tricky....stroke or heart attack often occurs. Outcomes are not good

Lazy!!!! Neighbors offered to walk with her, make healthy meals, etc. she’s not interested. SJSU’s weirdly likes to have pity parties instead.
