Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson: Donald Trump’s friends to dominate British politics
Newsweek ^ | May 2019 | Shane Croucher

Conservative member of Parliament Boris Johnson, who campaigned to leave the EU., is the clear favorite to replace May among bookmakers and party members, though he faces several challenges.

Trump described Johnson, a former mayor of London, as a friend during his visit to the U.K. in 2018. The U.S. president also said Johnson would make a good prime minister, comments that irritated May at the time and for which he apologized.

The delayed Brexit process and the widespread hatred of May’s deal triggered a surge in support for the populist leader Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party, which is set to win the European parliamentary elections in Britain after cannibalizing a large amount of support from the Conservatives.

Too little, too late. Britain has committed cultural suicide. Most Americans still don’t realize that Britain has been transformed. It is not worth any further American material or human sacrifices.

Brits generally like to have members of the Empire among them.

What Brits don’t like is treachery, as May has found out.

Britain is very similar to the United States.

One major difference is that cars and buses come from an unexpected direction and at high speed since about half of British drivers apparently think they are race car drivers.

English housing is California class expensive.

Basically, it's damp, green, with cities overrun with the detritus of Empire. Overall the country is poorly managed with (the Motorways excepted) an aging, and compared with France and Germany, fairly decrepit infrastructure. Political Correctness and irrational kowtowing to racial minorities and their criminal elements is far more rampant than here. But overall, there's still something about the place that feels culturally like "home".

Royalty? They keep their noses out of politics and are just fantastically well subsidized symbols of the British nation state. But considering what the philosophical kin of Corbin and the radicals in Labour did to Cousin Nicolae and his family in Russia - 1917/18, and that today's Left would like to repeat, they probably quietly root for the Tories.

Nigel Farage would be the best choice for PM, if only.

My uncle has been at hundreds of rallies over his life, he’s seen every GOP candidate speak since Goldwater.

He said that after Trump, Sir Nigel Farage is the greatest speaker h has ever seen. He saw him in Mississippi at a Trump rally in 2016

Britain has no 1st amendment-like protections for speech. There are strong libel laws against saying things deemed to be offensive.

Nigel Paul Farage has never been knighted, and is therefore addressed as Mister, not Sir. That said, Farage is practically unequaled as a stump speaker, well suited for the rough and tumble and never thrown off point. It doesn't hurt that he is also right!

Germany will stand alone, eventually.

There was a lot of hatred and fear against China last time I was in NZ, so maybe, with a nationalist Oz, the Kiwis will find their spine against the progs.

Looks to me like Trump is making a few overtures in Central and South America, but that’s going to take us whipping China, Russia and Iran before anything approaching nationalistic capitalism is even a dream down there. But there is Brazil and I’m not clear on the present state of Chile.

The realignment is still in its infancy, but what a timeline!
