A woman missing for over two weeks in the Makawao Forest Reserve on Maui, Hawaii, has miraculously been found alive, a family friend and rescuer confirmed to ABC News.

Amanda Eller had been missing for 16 days when she was found in good condition at about 5 p.m. local time.

"We found her in a stream bed, she was waving up at us while we were in the helicopter, and we got her out nice and safe," Chris Berquist, who was in the helicopter, told ABC News Radio late Friday. "She was not injured. She has a little bit of exposure from the sun, a little bit of sunburn. She lost her shoes a few days in. But no injuries."

Not buying it.

You might recall the story of Aimee Semple McPherson, who walked in from the Mexican desert in heels, unsunburned, and saying she had been kidnapped and held by a couple named Steve and Rose.

Strangely, she had disappeared from a SoCal beach, where she had been feared drowned. A massive search couldn’t find radio evangelist, founder of the Foursquare Church, Sister Aimee.

The notion she had been seen around, during her captivity, with her radio engineer was denied by Aimee.

I was more concerned when we took our Bermuda Cruise. Bermuda Triangle and all. But we had no problem there.

I don’t understand why anyone would go hiking alone.

She was in training for Naked and Afraid?

“it’s an island follow the stream down to civilization”

That may be true in Continental areas of the world however, on an island such as Maui, I would suspect that the majority of streams on Maui and up flowing down to the ocean and probably down to cliffsides rather than Meandering beaches.

Why was Twitter asking Trump to find her?

The last photo in the article looks strange...

Looks like she is wearing the same clothes she was found in and the shirt already looks dirty and she looks mussed up. But the "boyfriend" looks neat and clean. Did the BF abandon her there? Very strange...

She needs to be in training just to get through the day, it seems.

It says the boyfriend didn’t go hiking. She went alone.

Oh, you’ll have much better luck in Hawaii.

The Captain will pull the ship into Hawaiian Shaved Ice Bay where you’ll see glaciers “calving” tasty Hawaiian ice treats!

Then, the natives will paddle their quaint jet skis out to see you while greeting you with the traditional Hawaiian greeting of “Haole! Haole” while putting a necklace made of time share contracts around your neck.

We took a cruise that went to Bermuda from Tampa in April. Never made it to France.

She must have missed the tree marking class before the hike.

When I first moved to Silicon Valley, I bought a map book of San Francisco to help me if I got lost. It didn’t take long to realize I couldn’t stay lost for long. It’s on a peninsula. Just drive straight. You’ll either be headed south toward home, or you’ll get wet. LOL

I don’t understand why anyone would go hiking alone.

I go hiking alone a lot. Sometimes I take a dog with me. I like the solitude and to hike at my own pace. I do go prepared if I get stuck or have an emergency.

Before going out for the hike, she was last seen wearing one of these tiki god necklaces.
