American colleges and universities may be liberal strongholds for the most part, but there are some outstanding institutions of higher learning that still cater to conservative values.
Some are religious, some secular, but all of the schools on this list have demonstrated a commitment to conservatism, either through their original mission statements, their curriculums, volunteer and work opportunities, or on-campus activities available to students.
To help young people find a top-notch education at an institution that resonates with their principles, Newsmax with the help of TheBestSchools.org, the Young America's Foundation, and other resources has compiled a list of the 40 best colleges and universities for conservative values.
1. Hillsdale College Located in Hillsdale, Michigan, the college is a coeducational liberal arts college that provides classes such as Western heritage and American heritage and includes the Kirby Center, based in Washington, D.C., which helps students find placement for government internships. It was founded in 1844 and has about 1,400 students.
2. Christendom College Located in Front Royal, Virginia, this Catholic college, with about 550 students, was founded in 1977 and offers seven undergraduate majors and a master's degree program in theological studies.
3. Grove City College Located in Grove City, Pennsylvania, it is a private liberal arts college with about 2,500 students established in 1876. Its website states: "The College unapologetically advocates preservation of America's religious, political, and economic heritage of individual freedom and responsibility."
4. College of the Ozarks All 1,400 students at this Missouri college work 15 hours per week in lieu of paying tuition, earning the college its nickname of "Hard Work U." The Christian, liberal arts college offers 41 majors and 38 minors, as well as pre-professional courses, and prides itself on offering a "patriotic education,"

Christendom grad here. Great choice for Catholics.
I never attended Hillsdale College but I did live in Hillsdale, Michigan for a time when I was younger. An absolutely beautiful place!
Lake of the Ozarks is wonderful.
surprised there’s only two from MO
Same post :)
Two of my kids graduated from Grove City College (one this past weekend). I have one more there. It is an excellent school that gives an incredible bang for the buck. It holds to a very steady Christian doctrine. More FREEPers need to know about this school.
Do any teach Engineering...and are they any GOOD at it?
Unlikely
My daughter lives in Ojai,CA. and we often drive past St. Thomas Aquinas.
Its in the middle of nowhere.
Glad to see St. Vincent College (#16 on the list) as a newcomer. It has always been close and often included if it is a top 50 or top 60 list rather than just top 40. Beautiful campus and short drive from where I live and work.
Also new to the list is Southern Utah University (#32), located in the most conservative part of one of the most conservative states in the union. The student body is roughly 30% of the town.
Texas A&M is a good engineering school. But, you’re right, a lot of these schools are basically seminaries. If your interested in an engineering or scientific career, check these places closely, some do not offer these courses at all above the intro level.
BFL
Beautiful campus and area. I would send my kids there if they were younger and headed to college.
Ozarks is more vocational but its students are first rate.
I have heard good things about Texas A&M.
I mostly mentor young people about College choices.
My big complaint about Christian Colleges is after 4 years, you are qualified to be a Councilor or a Pastor.
That is it!
Seems like a serious waste of money at a time we NEED Conservative Hardware and Software Engineers.
I graduated from 28 on the list
Probably Texas A&M, which looks like the only large public university to make the list.
Proud double GCC papa here too. Both of mine flourished there.
You dont go to college to get values
install the new you go to college to get a real education bike engineering or something
Now if the college is more likely to have conservative chicks rather than liberal idiot chicks Im all for that
From 2016, but still a great list. And as a Hillsdale grad, I am very proud that the alma mater is on top of taht distinguished list.
