Buttigieg: Trump’s Presidency a ‘Hostile Takeover’ of the GOP

During a town hall in Claremont, NH, 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg referred to President Donald Trump’s presidency a “hostile takeover of the Republican Party” as he discussed the idea of a generational shift.

“I believe we’re living through one of those transitions between moments in American history as consequential as the one that brought us the new deal, or the dawn of the Reagan era — which I would argue is actually a 40-year period that is only now come crashing to a halt with the hostile takeover of the Republican Party by the current president,” he told Fox News’ Chris Wallace.

Trump won in about 2,600 counties; Clinton won in less than 500.
That sure was hostile of him!

I mean “hostile” in that the leadership didn’t want him. And a lot of them still don’t.

It’s a very good analogy. There were good and bad “hostile” takeovers. The good ones occurred when bad management was depressing the value of a company, usually by bloating it up to create a big empire of different businesses that supposedly only they could manage. There was no way to get rid of them because they had the board in their pocket; over time management had nominated most of the board.

So called “corporate raiders” went over the heads of the boards, directly to the shareholders, to get them to oust management and put the new team in charge. Naturally management hated the new team and vilified them (and in some cases convinced the government to jail them) regardless of the rightness (or wrongness) of their plan, but just because management didn’t want to lose their jobs.

That is exactly what it is, as I’ve been calling it for two years plus.

Stop reading the FR archives, Buttplug.

Trump got 45% of the primary votes in 2016 compared with 25% for Cruz, 13% for Kaysuck, and 11% for Little Marco.

How exactly did Trump force all those primary voters to vote for him, and how was that a “hostile takeover”?

This guys most likely the 2024 D nominee IMHO... He’s only around to build some name recognition and donor networks for the 2024 run... and honestly, he’s more intelligent by at least half, than every other D running this cycle.

Of course, when you refuse to vote for him in 2024, no matter the reason, you will just be a homophobic small minded redneck.

They will use him to try to create a 2008 cycle repeat, using a homosexual, instead of an African American.

He’s right. It was a hostile takeover of the GOP by Republican voters who are sick of the party being nothing more than Democrat Lite.

They neglected to mention that “we the people” are behind Trump and therefore behind the takeover!

[[Buttigieg: Trump’s Presidency a ‘Hostile Takeover’ of the GOP]]

You’re damn right it was! The gutless GOP was becoming indistinguishable from the despicable left (Your party petie old boy- or are you the ‘woman’?)- and Pres Trump is draining the damn swamp that has become Washington!

Any more questions Pete?

Tell you what, buttplug. You worry about relative diameters of insertion devices, we’ll worry about who should lead the Republican Party.

But thanks ever so much for your concern.

Well, I agree it is...a hostile takeover of the GOP from the Bushes and their Globalist/Deep State cabal.

But if anything ever needed a hostile takeover, it was the Bushie GOP.

Now who is going to do one (hostile takeover) of the perfidious, communist Democrat Party?
