An emotional Emilia Clarke paid tribute to Daenerys Targaryen, her former cast-mates and her late father on Sunday evening as fans digested the dramatic finale of HBOs long running fantasy drama, Game Of Thrones. Millions stayed up late to watch as the show came to an end after nine years, eight season and hundreds of brutal deaths, but many were underwhelmed by its final episode, which included plenty of shock moments and one unfortunate editing gaffe.

Season 8: “Take the Money and Run!”
Reign of Fire was a cool “Monster movie”. The kind of picture I remember from Saturday afternoon Creature Double Feature when I was a kid... except a LOT better made! Haha!
It just seemed so rushed, like “Let’s just get this over with so we can move on.”
Not the best way to end what was otherwise a great show, IMHO.
That was my conclusion after plowing through Sopranos, The Shield, 24....all soap operas
I totally agree with you. IF you have NEVER watched the show why even comment on this thread.
If you chose to give up your TV in 1986, good for you, blah , blah, blah. Who cares. Why are you commenting on a tread about a TV show then?
IT’S A TV SHOW. It is entertainment. Get over yourself. Go watch ONAN.
I thought the ending was fine. I thought the best scene was when Sam Tarly said something to the effect of: what if we give EVERYBODY a vote as to who would be KING. Then everybody laughed at him and said are you crazy.
Just commenting to a particular Freeper, nothing else to it.
As an aside, we watch a lot of "Comet" and MeTV" in our house. Comet, especially, has weekend creature features. "Creature from the Black Lagoon" was on recently and WBill Jr thought that it was a hoot.
And a great series goes to the dogs.
Thats why I like books.
Agreed. I’ve been hooked by multiple first seasons of a series, only to tune out when season two starts pushing the homo propoganda and anti-male rhetoric.
But it’s not limited to films. A great example is the The Golden Compass. A novel written for emerging readers, the first novel is great, and gets the kids hooked. In the second and third novel, the activist author adds homosexual themes and takes the loyal young minds to the sewer.
Interestingly, I learned this from my son’s 4th grade teacher. I had purchased the first book at the school book fair, and when he say it in my hand, he said he was pretty sure I didn’t want my kid reading it. He explained why, and I returned it.
He didn’t kill Jon because Jon is a Targaryen.
“Creature from the Black Lagoon”...
Damn, one of my childhood favorites. Would have been even cooler if they’d filmed it in color.
Soap operas are daily stories about characters, with plot twists thrown in. So? We were hooked on Days of our Lives many years ago and it was great. Great villains and heroes.
Ignorance abounds.
Yeah; I don't get that. What's the point of even posting if all they are going to say is they didn't watch it. Move on to the next subject if that's the case. Sheesh. People.
The entire saga of His Dark Materials is very anti-God/anti-religion. The author was quite open about it. The entire series is being done for British TV and will be shown on HBO (I saw a trailer for it on HBO last night).
I can only assume that they are trying to impress us with their lack of knowledge and insight on the subject being discussed!
Martin can jam his last book up his substantial lazy keester.
There was so much that happened in the final season. It may have been better to film a couple more episodes to set people up for the transition and end. There were some great moments in Season 8.
I have been saying something similar for years. Also, the "I have never owned a t.v." or, "I never turn my t.v. on anymore, haven't watched anything since 1960"."
I don't understand why they even click on a subject that they have no idea what they are talking about. I have decided it is just virtue signalling. I am so much better and morally upright because I don't watch this show.
I just wish they would stop doing this. You don't like t.v., you don't watch t.v., don't click onto a thread about those subjects. Why insult your fellow freepers?
Just so. These people are simply better than us.
I suspect the reason is that Jon is a Targareon and the dragons seems mystically linked to that line.
