I remember the ragman with his horse and cart...and this was on a Main Street in a big city. But we always took the buttons off clothing and everyone had a button box.....and a red apple sewing cushion.

We saved our newspapers and tied them in bundles with twine. Dealers actually paid us for the papers.

And on Sunday, we went to church.

Those button jars annoy me. Can't throw them away just because you never know when you need a button... and you never do.

My mom removes handles off drawers before tossing the furniture. Can't get a handle on that one either.

I thought those were tomatoes, not apples. That little strawberry hanging off the side was fascinating (to me as a child) As an adult, I learned that it was to sharpen or derust needles and pins.

Back in the day we used to turn off lights when we left the room. Now we have those leave on all the time light bulbs. If you turn them of too frequently, their life span shortens.
