When Elton John testified before Congress, the media had a field day.
When Smokey Robinson made a brief appearance, everyone cheered.
But when Gene Simmons of KISS traveled to the Pentagon on May 16 to laud the troops for their service and fight back tears to discuss how America saved his Hungarian-born mother from the concentration camps, many reporters and pundits scoffed.
Why did the media opt to cast negativity around Simmons appearance rather than fawn over it as they would typically do with any other Hollywood star?
Simple: if it wasnt for the president himself, he could be considered the poster boy for everything that the left hates about the modern-day culture war.

Simmons also led singing of the national anthem while standing amongst representatives of the armed services at a recent Dodgers/Braves game at Chavez Ravine recently.
Ex-presidents join Kiss army?

Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush: Newest Kiss members?
The ex-commanders-in-chief were eyed rubbing shoulders with the rock bands frontman, Gene Simmons, over the weekend. Simmons, 65, and wife, actress Shannon Tweed, posed for pics with the double dose of former president at Sundays annual Starkey Hearing Foundation gala in Minnesota. Bush was honored along with pop singer Katy Perry.
Oh, did I not put the “/S” on that? LOL!
honestly, it seems that is the case....except for those that are already conservative (or perhaps also conservative as it were).
it’s a very strange thing, in my opinion at least.
so was Stanley smart? Exacting in the editing studio? Like intense, or detail oriented?
Hi CD, sorry for the late reply. The studio was editing a promo spot for the then upcoming (2006) Rising Sun Tour, to be played in theatres. The sponsor paid for it, so Paul was there just to make sure the KISS brand was maintained (which was smart on his part, because the wrong editor could make it look like a sappy romco “KISS Greatest Hits” tv spot). He was friendly, involved, smart, and collaborative. I was editing in next window suite, so I couldn’t hear how exacting he was. He cared a great deal and probably was the one who insisted on being there, I sensed that much. Best, Bill
gosh that’s awesome
a true pro!
