RIP Beloved Grumpy Cat!
PING!
I have to wonder if pets will be in heaven?
Complications from a UTI?
Sad.
I liked Grumpy cat.
Sad, way too early.
That’s YOUNG!!!
My cat is 11 and rocks chasing toys and jumping like an Olympian (which all cats do) just as much and well as he ever did.
I expect it to slow down in the next year or so and I will be saddened but I’d like to have him another 5 years.
I know a lot of cats making it to 16 to even 21 years old nowadays.
Wow. Was one of the better memes that withstood the test of the 24-hour news cycle and people’s 8-minute attention span.
Probably the richest cat ever.
RIP Grumpy....
Cats are known to have kidney issues.
My kittie, GracieGirl lived to 23! She died of kidney disease.
But death via UTI?
It said complications.
My mother’s cat only has one kidney because her kitty has UTIs. And my mother has spent nearly 10,000 on medical for her kitty.
Just never heard of feline UTIs not being treatable if caught in time—and I would have thought Grumpy’s would be caught in time.
Though maybe this is the feline version of crying wolf: since she was already grumpy, it wasn’t as easy to detect that she wasn’t feeling well.
It said complications. We don’t know what that means.
Many cats get UTIs that lead to impacted/blocked bladders. Crystals form in the tract due to pH levels which, as you can imagine, is painful but fatal if untreated since they can’t empty. Many have to eat a spcial diet to prevent recurrence.
