Former congressman Trey Gowdy advised Attorney General William Barr's investigators, probing the Obama administration’s handling of the Trump-Russia investigation, that the key lies in emails between Comey and Brennan.Ex-South Carolina Rep. Gowdy gave the tip during an interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity in which he pointed investigators toward former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey.“So whoever’s investigating this, tell them to look for emails between Brennan and Comey in December 2016,” Gowdy said in an interview with Hannity.

And I still think it is, but I really believe he was just talking to the Fox audience - Barr has certainly already done it...

That would be an OK place to start but don’t make the mistake of assuming they put their crimes in writing.
Good lawyers don’t use laptops, email, smart phones, or anything besides cryptic hand written prompts. Why would a person be so dumb?

Because they were absolutely certain that Hillary would win the election.
Here are some ideas I’ve had:
1. Find out if Clapper intercepted the GOPs or Papadopoulos’ emails. Clapper apparently thinks he had a license to do that, and then lie about it to Congress. I suspect that is how Brennan found out about Papadopoulos’ efforts to engage the Russians, not thru some Australian diplomat. I also notice that while Clapper is in this up to his eyeballs, we still have no idea what role he played, unlike Brennan and Comey.
2. Collect all of the info that the agencies shared between themselves. Obama banned that, remember? But then on his last day, he signed an order that allowed it. The supposed reason was to make it difficult for Trump to hide the evidence against him (which we now know did not exist). My suspicion is that the real reason Obama revoked the order was that he knew his people were violating it ad nauseum, and that unless he revoked the order, it would be obvious that they did so.
3. Find out if Carter Page was on the US payroll. I suspect that he’s actually a plant. Too many coincidences with Page. I don’t see how a former Annapolis grad and Naval officer who speaks fluent Russian and was based in Moscow for a few years could accidentally get caught up in two unrelated counter-espionage investigations by shear coincidence right when Brennan needed a plant in the Trump campaign.

In any event, IRSgate and Hillarygate show that they have perfected the art of destroying emails.
Seems way too easy, and obvious to me.
In fact, how can the heads of agencies that rely on intelligence gathering, investigations, information security, and clandestine activities NOT know to cover their own tracks when conspiring to sabotage election campaigns????
Which tells me kabuki theater playing, swamp monster Gowdy has known stuff all along, and DID NOTHING, right along with the rest of the traitorous POS Republicans.
