Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed during the MoffetNathanson Media & Communications Summit that the next Star Wars movie, released in 2022, will be written and directed by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Disney had announced in February 2018 that Benioff and Weiss would write and produce a new trilogy of Star Wars films, which was separate from the current slate of films, and the other new trilogy The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is creating. The studio revealed earlier this week that the next Star Wars movies will hit theaters on December 16, 2022, December 12, 2024 and December 18, 2026, which were expected by most fans to be Johnson's trilogy, but Bob Iger confirmed otherwise.

Hollywood is a post-nuclear wasteland of creativity.
I feel sorry for people who don’t know about the alternatives. Probably lots of people these days who never experienced a profound work of art, ever.
If Disney had any brains, theyd’ve waited to do this until after they saw how the series finale went over.
I think that the reason that the last couple of GOT episodes kinda sucked is because they don’t care about that product anymore: they got the contract with evil Disney and just want to finish things up so they can start collecting the big Star Wars bucks.
So we can expect the next SW series to include porn and gratuitous cruelty. That ought to bring em in.
Episode 7 was OK but they killed off their best character with this whole oedipus thing way to early in the series.
Episode 8 was just butt awful.
Rogue one was rousing! Excellent!
Solo was good but the main character was miscast. Should have gotten Chris Pratt. Needed a wise ass.

Never mind profound works of art. Look for theaters that show current Bollywood thrillers and comedies. Popular Indian movies can seem silly and overblown to American sensibilities, especially with the big production numbers, but there is an energy and creativity to Bollywood’s output that has long been missing from most Hollywood releases.
After too many years interacting with H1-Bs I never want to see or know anything from India ever again.
I’ll stick with the Japanese, where they average 20+ IQ points higher than in India, and the culture reflects that.
Disney will care if GoT fans get po’d and take it out on Disney’s hide.
FWIW, we’ve recently seen some very good shows out of India. Much better than anything on US TV.
> Much better than anything on US TV.
Reads to me like “tastes better than fresh dog turds.”
There was a time when, although everyone in Hollywood was a leftist, they had the good sense not to let that leftism kill the golden goose.
Not so anymore. Now its full SJW for every franchise, screw It if it ruins the franchise and is a financial disaster.
I thought the Star Wars franchise had bottomed out with the Lucas prequels, then came The Last Jedi. Surely, that is the bottom of the barrel. This is hard to predict. The GOT crew specializes in subverting expectations. I expected season 8 to be good. They managed to subvert my expectations. I expect their Star Wars effort will be terrible. Maybe it has a chance of being good.
Problem is they didn’t “create” GOT.
If it’s like the s*-show they crammed into the last 6 episodes of GOT, they can count on losing the last of the SW fan-base (they lost this one in the prequels)
Anything has to be better than the hardcore Leftist politics theyve pushed for the last few episodes of Star Wars. Theyve completely run the franchise aground with that crap and have to start over.
Cool...now instead of PC Wars the franchise can be called Star Porns.
Star Wars died with the release of the Ewoks. Since then, there has been a competition of what level of vile suck the world will tolerate before they finally walk away. The drek increases exponentionally with each movie, and few seem to notice
So future Star Wars will have rape and incest and gory murders?
So the white walkers are really imperial storm troopers?
