Every morning, I walk my three youngest children to school before walking to the bus stop to hop on the bus to work. My daughters, Michelle and Lizbeth, are still in elementary school, and my youngest, Lizette, is in preschool. They all go to separate schools. That means Monday through Friday, I get up at 5 am to get my daughters ready, and I take one child to school, then I return to the apartment for the second and so on. To make sure they get to school safely and on time, I spend hours in my morning commute. This is because state law prohibits me from getting a driver’s license because of my immigration status.
I am an undocumented single mother and a survivor of violence. I migrated from Oaxaca, Mexico 16 years ago to reunite with my family here. Unfortunately, my husband was controlling and abusive, and it took me more than a decade to escape the abuse. This was made even harder because I didn’t have a driver’s license. Luckily, with the help of community organizations, I found the courage and support to take the steps necessary to report the abuse. Currently, I am on the waitlist for a U-Visa, a special visa for victims of crime, but the wait is more than six years on average.

What’s wrong with this picture? She’s a “victim” of a crime IN the US and she wants a special visa to stay in the US where she’s a victim?

She is an illegal criminal. Not an immigrant.

She admits she’s “undocumented” (= a criminal).

As an illegal, you can’t legally work so how can you even afford a car that you need a license to drive? On top of that, how much have you already stolen from US taxpayers in the form of welfare over the 16 years you’ve been here? No, you are not like me....I give and you take.
The real question is do we want the future of America to belong to Americans and their progeny or people like this?

Victims of Criminal Activity: U Nonimmigrant Status
The U nonimmigrant status (U visa) is set aside for victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity. Congress created the U nonimmigrant visa with the passage of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (including the Battered Immigrant Women’s Protection Act) in October 2000.
The legislation was intended to strengthen the ability of law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute cases of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking of aliens and other crimes, while also protecting victims of crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse due to the crime and are willing to help law enforcement authorities in the investigation or prosecution of the criminal activity.
The legislation also helps law enforcement agencies to better serve victims of crimes.
I think she is 100% lying about the “abuse”. I have seen this dozens of times with illegal women who will say ANYTHING to obtain a “U-Visa” amnesty.
She doesn’t need a driver’s license to get her kids to school.
She needs a pilot’s license.
Mexico is a long way off.
We pay for our schools through heavy taxation. You get it for free.

A friend sold an older car, and was surprised when a welfare recipient bought it. He was told that the state was buying her the car, and would pay for insurance and repairs.
So she lives off the government teat while blaming America for not giving her legal status?

Illegal aliens contribute about $10 billion a year in taxes. They COST $150 billion in federal, state, and local taxes. 25 Americans A DAY are killed by illegal aliens. Illegal aliens often carry large quantities of illegal drugs across the border as payment to coyotes. They are INVADING PARASITES and are NOT welcome.
Whomever is paying her to work is criminal and should be locked up.
