The Notre Dame fire (vanity)
me

Posted on 05/12/2019 12:55:20 PM PDT by Leaning Right

It's been almost a month since one of the great structures of the Western world - the Cathedral of Notre Dame - caught on fire. At first there were a flurry of reports about the possible causes of the fire. But then, next to nothing.

It seems like the entire event has disappeared down a rabbit hole.

Today I did a Google search of the incident. I set the search tool for "past week". I did not get anything significant that discussed the possible cause of the fire. I find that very odd.

One would think that a serious investigation would come up with something concrete after a month.

Fire? What fire? I didn’t see any fire, did you? No? GOOD. Moving forward, let’s build a mosque here just to be inclusive.

That can’t be it. Because if that were true, it would make the front page of every newspaper in the world.

(I kid, of course. Because some news is not fit to print.)

That alone should tell you the real story behind it.

I’ve seen a few things.

The two sides that now exist almost everywhere are battling it out.

I’m amazed that only 55 percent of the French think the steeple should be rebuilt the way it was.

Experts have said that oak that many centuries old is NOT highly flammable but needs a lot of help to catch fire. There are videos of someone walking around up there who shouldn’t have been there (i.e., not one of the staff). And the fact that there were two alarms, with the first being a small fire elsewhere, leads to speculation: The first one a failed attempt? Or even intended to head off the responder so he wouldn’t be near the second fire?

You can tell the two sides apart. The ones who love beautiful old architecture and this particular structure have tears in their eyes. The other ones don’t.

That should have been automatic. Rebuild the steeple just as it was. Like you, I am amazed that there is even any discussion about it.

I guess that it just isn’t Napoleon’s France anymore.

It could be almost anything but if I were going to bet, well you know what it would be.

The French authorities were giving causes of the fire almost before it was extinguished. Normally, a serious investigation - especially involving such a large structure - would take at least a day, if not longer. Then there was the brief film clip of that man dressed in Islamic-looking garb roaming around in the tower area at a time we were told no construction workers or fire-fighters were present.

My view is that even if the authorities know it was arson started by Muslims, they would never reveal that fact to the public. This is entirely consistent with their habitual practice of first protecting MUSLIMS in the aftermath of any MUSLIM act of terror.

It’s fun to speculate about arson or terrorism, the reality is the mostly likely cause is what investigators are examining, that it was an electrical accident.

There was no man in Islamic garb.

A video that was more clear showed that the man was a fireman.

That doesn’t mean I think the fire was an accident, it just means the “guy who shouldn’t have been there” story is wrong.

I say the odds are slim to none that it was caused by an electric short in the wiring. But I seriously doubt we will ever know the truth.

All sorts of evidence points to it being set by Muslims including video of a Muslim and a flash.

Construction was not going on at the time and even an engineer has said that it was practically impossible for any of the materials on site to catch fire without an accelerant - he was quickly taken off the air.

They had just passed an electrical inspection. If they do not find a cause, you know who caused it.

There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that suggests that vandalism should be considered, including the date, and the number of other RC churches set on fire, in France and worldwide.

I don’t know about the veracity of that video (that is, it could have been taken at a different time, when the firefighters had already reached the roof, although it didn’t look it). But the wood was very hardened, solid oak from old trees and I’m sure it would have needed an accelerant to take off like that.

So video or no, I don’t think it was an accident - and I’m sure the French know it wasn’t. But you’ll never hear it from them.

Nearly three attacks on churches and cathedrals in France EVERY day for the past two + years, then they say “accident” as the cause when no workers were on site and before investigators arrived on scene.
