Teen Charged With Shooting Two Men At Argyle Red Line Station Released By Judge With No Supervision

Over prosecutors’ objections, a 14-year-old boy charged with shooting two men on a CTA platform earlier this week has been released to his parents after a bond hearing.
"At today’s detention hearing, we requested the minor be held in custody,” the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said in a statement. “The court made the finding that under the law the minor must be released because he was held in custody for 42 hours … and not brought before a judicial officer within 24 hours.”
A spokesperson for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said prosecutors objected and asked for electronic monitoring, but the judge denied it.
Police disputed that they held the suspect too long and said they turned him over to juvenile court within the legal time.
Sources also told CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov that the alleged shooter has a lengthy record, and a police source said he has an outstanding arrest warrant downstate, which should have kept the teen in custody.
The state’s attorney’s spokesperson said prosecutors had no knowledge of an outstanding warrant, so it wasn’t brought up.

See, this is what's missing in the gun debate. The gun grabbers can scream all they want about controlling or banning guns, but they never mention the thugs who commit crimes with guns get off virtually scot-free or don't serve a lot of time at all.
The NRA and other 2nd Amendment groups need to start talking about this.
