Nearly every country in the world has agreed upon a legally binding framework to reduce the pollution from plastic waste except for the United States, U.N. environmental officials say.
An agreement on tracking thousands of types of plastic waste emerged Friday at the end of a two-week meeting of U.N.-backed conventions on plastic waste and toxic, hazardous chemicals.
Discarded plastic clutters pristine land, floats in huge masses in oceans and rivers and entangles wildlife, sometimes with deadly results. [ ]
The deal affects products used in a broad array of industries, such as health care, technology, aerospace, fashion, food and beverages.

95% of the plastic in the ocean is from two continents....
Asia and Africa.
yep , make them clean it up
When Asia has cleaned up 50% of its plastic waste and Coal emissions, THEN come and talk with the U.S.
The Democrats are too far gone. They may attempt an armed coup now that it didn’t work through their politicized bureaucracy.
BTW, 2024 is indeed the near future.

“The UN is a corrupt and virulently anti-American organization”
I googled “UN Plastic Waste Pact” and found the ext. Must have been written by a committee of lawyers, and it references other documents. Not sure who the intended audience is but it’s not the common man (oops, person).
Another win...Yes... F the UN...
93% of Oceanic plastic comes from just 10 rivers. Two of those are in Africa and the other eight are in Asia.
North America, Australia, South America and Europe combined only produce 7% total. How much of that 7% does anybody really think is coming from the US? The source of the problem is obviously Africa and Asia. So rather than bedwetting over the fact that the US hasn’t signed up for this when its not causing the problem anyway, how about focusing on the actual source of the problem.
