Burr Back-Up: Susan Collins and Marco Rubio both tell reporters they want to see the SSCI investigation through to the end.
Rubio says colleagues calling for its proof end have a fundamental misunderstanding about the committees work, which is not the same at Mueller
It went well. Have a wellness appointment in morning.
Dermatologist office called. One spot OK. One spot iffy/needs watching and the third must have more work done because it’s the wrong type of cells. Go back in two weeks to have it worked on.
Sounds like a great BBQ place. We have a couple of good ones in our county. Never think to bring it home.
FBI’s Steele story falls apart: False intel and media contacts were flagged before FISA
BY JOHN SOLOMON, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR 05/09/19 03:00 PM EDT
FTA:
The FBIs sworn story to a federal court about its asset, Christopher Steele, is fraying faster than a $5 souvenir t-shirt bought at a tourist trap.
Newly unearthed memos show a high-ranking government official who met with Steele in October 2016 determined some of the Donald Trump dirt that Steele was simultaneously digging up for the FBI and for Hillary Clintons campaign was inaccurate, and likely leaked to the media.
In her typed summary, Kavalec wrote that Steele told her the Russians had constructed a technical/human operation run out of Moscow targeting the election that recruited emigres in the United States to do hacking and recruiting.
She quoted Steele as saying, Payments to those recruited are made out of the Russian Consulate in Miami, according to a copy of her summary memo obtained under open records litigation by the conservative group Citizens United. Kavalec bluntly debunked that assertion in a bracketed comment: It is important to note that there is no Russian consulate in Miami.

The duty uniform (BDU’s = Battle Dress Uniforms) policy, when I was active duty (circa 1982-1992) was that one could make very few stops off base in camo. dress, while traveling to or from “work”. Stopping for gasoline or child care was about it. Casual shopping or recreational activities (non militarily related) were unacceptable tasks or stops.
I distinctly remember a soldier that was in line at an ATM at a bank on base, who had taken off their blouse/shirt, while still wearing an issued sweater underneath for the cold weather, and was approached by a senior enlisted person and was reprimanded for being out of uniform.
I realize times change and military personnel are moving to or from combat zones much more frequently these days, and the dress uniforms are inappropriate or put another way, considered impractical, extravagant or luxurious, for lack of better terminology.
The command authority of a given unit authorizes and determines the wearing of the uniform of the day. Also imagine trying to keep a suit in tip top shape when your luggage is a duffel bag and rucksack. There are exceptions to the rule, but rarely implemented.
Due to the nature of the material of the camo. uniforms, heat- ie ironing (and starching) diminishes the material’s properties designed to break up the heat signature of the human being that is wearing said uniform, so military authorities have done away with such grooming and dress standards. The wearing of spit shined jump boots is no longer the norm, as the switch to a tan rough leather boot is nearly universal amongst all branches of service. Having said all that- on base customs and traditions, versus field duty wear, especially when downrange and under arms, continues in a ying and yang sort of way.
Many military occupations require the wearing of Class A dress uniforms for specific work assignments.
We are okay.....lots of flooding all around us.
Friends (huge) tree was hit by lightning, fell....barely missing house. The lightning strike did knock out the surrounding power, though.
We have more rain in forecast, but praying all of the waters subside before the next round comes. All ditches and creeks seem to be subsiding pretty quick.
Thanks for checking.
So now a Federal judge thinks she can order the AG Barr to break the law?
There is no need for anyone to see an unredacted copy of the report at this point in time.
There are active investigations and grand jury testimony in the report.
My pleasure FRiend! I’ve been without my laptop for quite some time, due to repairs that are underway, and borrowed an oldy but a goody just in time for the rally last night. Good to see you on the thread!
Excellent presentation of the five stages of grief vis-a-vis the Mueller Report by the Demons, presented by Matt Gaetz, R-FL, yesterday at the six hour Nadler Committee hatefest:
