The U.S. Army has unveiled a new uniform designed to look like the iconic green suits used by officers during World War II. The design choice was intentional, copying the old green gabardine wool field coat and khaki trousers worn by officers in the 40s, a nod to the service's finest hour. 'We went back and asked, when is the most prominent time when the Armys service to our nation was universally recognized, and the answer came very quickly,' sergeant major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey said to the New York Times.

“Women and minorities hit hardest”,said the nation’s “Paper of Record”.
The uniform worn the last time we fought a war to WIN. I like it
Maybe itll make a impression on the politicians who send men to die in vain
I believe uniforms are an important element of military morale.
I had crappy uniforms in the 1970’s when I was in (wore the hated “Ice Cream Man” uniforms instead of the traditional Crackerjacks and Dixie Cups.
I have always liked those Army uniforms.
The hats seem a little off. How it flourishes upward. Not the garrison cap, the other one. Don’t like that.
The dreaded pickle suit
I think they called them Pinks IIRC.The garrison head gear looks great. The other looks like head gear worn by banana republic troops.
Totally agree
I agree about the hat. It’s too similar to the hats worn by the North Korean military {and the Russians}.
Will the Army be going back to the M-1? Or, the musket?
Seafarers too!
“...iconic greens ...”
Those were your ‘OD’s’...Olive Drab
That’s what dad called them
The uniform last worn in a declared war.
Congress won’t pass another declaration of war again because by such a declaration they would, in effect, be authorizing the use of nuclear weapons against the enemy and Congress is far too cowardly to do that.
They are the one branch of the military that doesn’t make sense in blue and IMO should proudly be of natural earth tones and greens. Olive drab and Olive green should be their proud identity.
So good to see them getting back there. The other branches are all overtly about the sky and/or water, so should have that navy or other blue identity.
“Army green” and “navy blue” have purpose.
(Of course, the special forces and marines, among the others, don’t spend all their time suspended in air or water!)
The army tried being trendy (and cheap) and they looked like Sad Sacks.
Now that they're returning to a military uniform, they're going to screw it up with patches, badges, ropes, glittery stuff, and other paraphernalia. They can't help themselves.
This is a Marine but the text says Army
The Army Greens will be used as a military business suit to wear for events, office work, or travel between bases. An older suit model pictured on Chariman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford in 2017
Our Service Dress uniform in WWII was khaki for summer and dark green in winter. We wore those through Korea and early into Viet Nam.
Looks like they bought used hats from the Russians
I love how they show a photo of a marine to show the army greens.
Idiots.
The hats look silly.
