It’s a heathen practice. Dating all the way back to Old Testament times; God’s people were never cremated.

I think all of us are ‘God’s People’. Who else could have made us?

(And I don’t think that the material shell is something that God is at all concerned with, after we’ve left it - if He is ever concerned with it at all.)

I know lots of faithful Christians who decided to be cremated. Especially when it’s chosen to spare loved ones excessive expense, it seems a thoughtful, Christian decision to make. I’m certainly going to make that decision, and not just to spare my loved ones - I won’t care at all about this old ‘thing’ by that point.

Excessive care for what happened to the body after death was also a very ‘pagan’ concern - to the Egyptians, among many others.
