I am not much of a vanity poster.
This morning I have noticed that Firefox had disabled my browser extensions for Ghostery and Adblock plus. I tried to install several other adblock anti-trackers and none of them will install.
I have tried to re-install them yet I am denied.
I hate to wave goodbye to Firefox as I have been onboard since the Netscape days. But, I cannot get these extensions to install no matter what I do and I will dump them if they want to force the issue
Both my Ghostery and Adblock plus are gone
Yes, I had the exact same issue, just opened it up to try again this morning and the first thing I saw was your post. Upchuck’s link in #13 seems to have some good information if you haven’t checked it yet.
Happened to me last night also.
Because the glitch stems from an underlying certificate, re-installing extensions wont work if you try, youll likely just be met with a different error message. Getting extensions back for everyone is going to require Mozilla to issue a patch.
Same here - been using Palemoon and Brave
People watching Youtube without adblockers were pulling their Hair out ,LOL
You may just need to update your Firefox Browser. I am using Firefox with only Ghostery add on, and it is working fine. All you need is Ghostery Ad block and skip Adblock.
Anyway, if you cannot get it to work, then I strongly recommend using BRAVE. The creator of the Brave Browse is the creator of Java and the Firefox Browser. He is a conservative and was kicked out of Firefox for being a strong supporter of Traditional marriage.
Brave requires no Add ons and is faster the Google Chrome. It does a great job blocking unwanted Ads. Try it out. I think you will like it. Here is the link. Try it out and you can import all your bookmarks. Here is the link below.
Yep - I’ve encountered it too after an update.
I kept getting a Firefox pop-up telling me my browser was “critically out of date”. I foolishly allowed it to update and now it is largely unusable.
I set that machine aside and moved to a different computer. I guess that’s on the todo list for this weekend...
Not much of a speller either, but seriously, as I understand Firefox is disabling extensions that are obfuscated. Meaning you can’t dis-assemble the code.
Yes I did notice.
Not too happy either.
No, they said they would be disabling extensions. Not a virus.
Is Brave more accepted than it was in the beginning? I tried it right after firefox got stupid... I couldn’t open several websites with it.
I’ve had no trouble whatsoever with it.
This happened to me, too. No AdBlock, etc.
Brave is excellent now. Give it another try.
Get on Brave. It is a very good browser, feature rich, can take Chrome extensions.
yep. same here. bye bye firefox
