How many times did his mama tell him not to do that?

WHY in the hell did I just crack my neck when I read this? My mom was right, there really is something just not right about me.

Kind of scary. When the muscles in my neck get tight I have to pop my neck to get relief. Just letting it go isn’t much of an option. It is more of a sideways movement that gets the release but it’s kind of a fine distinction between sideways and a twist.

What’s ‘twisting’ vs side to side?

The chiropracter takes a person's head in his hands and suddenly twists it on the neck, like opening jar lid not quite a quarter turn. One direction and then the other.

I tore a muscle in my neck cracking it in my early 20s, haven’t been able to do it the same since and it really bothers me because I can tell when it’s close. Eventually it just happens on it’s own now.

Way I did it was grab top of my head (left side of head with right hand or vice versa) and then pull to the arm side toward the shoulder. Usually the faster I did it the more cracks I achieved. Left side always popped more than the right.

Once I tore the muscle on the left side I just couldn’t get it to work anymore.

Now it happens when I turn my head but never when I move it down toward my shoulders. Never even tried to do it the way you see chiros doing it with the pivot move.
