Why follow Game of Thrones?

Look up real history.

Read about real people like the Borgias, you got the freaking Pope - the Pope! - poisoning his enemies.

The Netflix “The Borgias” was great!

Ended too soon, it needed to last long enough for Cesare to get his comeuppance! It didn’t!

I don’t think it had the audience. I guess not enough Ice Zombies or dragons

Same with Marco Polo!

Now as far as history goes they were ok but TV writers (Hollyweird) all think they’re better then history! To me history is the greatest drama nothing else comes close!

History Channel’s Viking’s have the same problem Hollyweird trying to improve history!

Martin borrows from Anglo-Saxon lore just like JRR Tolkein - not anywhere near as good as Tolkein. Martin’s “Red Wedding” if I remember this right was inspired by something the Plantagenet’s did. Now there was a bloody & horny bunch!

Don’t be stupid. Take charge of your own life and leave others to theirs.

Actually, there’s no evidence that the Borgia pope poisoned anyone. Fifty years ago already, the historian Michael Mallett noted that the [I’m quoting wikipedia here] “only contemporary accusations of poisoning were from some of the servants of the Borgias, extracted under torture by Alexander’s bitter enemy and successor, Julius II.”
