So, does this mean a little less Lori on the Hallmark Chanel?
Dumbest legal move ever.
L
Perfectly sets up a movie about redemption when a privileged woman goes to prison and meets a scrappy ragtag bunch of fellow female inmates and turns all of their lives around.
They are betting on the skills of the lawyer in selecting a jury that won’t send Aunt Becky to prison.
Tell me about it. She’s facing FORTY years.
...prepare for your prison roll...
Aside from a luxury suite at a country club masquerading as a minimum-security facility, she will never see the inside of a prison cell. Shes a woman - an attractive one at that - and a celebrity. They arent subject to the same set of rules as us commoners.
She thinks she has a shot with a jury of eat the rich Commifornians? LOL.
I should have seen this post first. And Second. And Third.
It is the MOST GLARING thing to be taken away from this article.
She is INSANE.
WHATEVER HAPPENS in that courtroom, she is ####ed.
Even if she gets no time, she thinks it is going to HELP her reputation?!?!!?
No. EVERYTHING comes out in court cases and it is usually ALL BAD for the defendant.
But to her it makes sense because she lives in a make believe Hollywood world already.
Just wow.
Fed sentences, no parole.
They may be eat the rich types, but Cali people also worship celebrities. Shell pay a fine and do a token stint at a posh country club. Celebs, like politicians, arent subject to the same laws as regular people.
Has she ever won an oscar? It will take more than an oscar worthy performance to get her out of this. - We gave 100k to a guy who wanted pictures of our daughter on a rowing machine because we thought he ummm....ahh.... huh?...what was the question again? .
Conspiracy to commit fraud.
There could also be tax evasion charges if they took any deductions for college or charity monies “contributed” but I haven’t read any information regarding that.
Then there are the colleges...
Did the colleges turn a blind eye to the crime or were the colleges completely duped?
LOL
She’s so ####ed.
They all are once they have to leave their bubble.
“once the mASSes see how wonderful I really am, everything will be fine!”
I hear you and I can see how this could go either way. Like The Black Avenger used to say, about the worst fate he could imagine is put your future in the hands of 12 of your fellow Americans and anything you could do to avoid that was probably worthwhile.

You ought to take a script writing course. You might have the knack!
I think her lawyer is settng up an appeal based on inadequate/incompetent counsel.
The trial will take place in Massachusetts
