I love raw oysters but quit eating them about 10 years ago. I don’t believe it’s worth the risk.
Many now are what they call “farm raised” and I believe they’re safer than what they used to be. I believe the farm raised are harvested in baskets in open waters where they have a pretty good flow of water but it’s still too risky for me.

I remember shucking them in college for a few days while in college to make some extra bucks. Many of them had some kind of mini starfish parasites. Don't know if I got them all!😎

I have to go to Wikipedia to look up so many things so often on this site that’s it’s crazy :)
Looked up Damon Runyon Theater
Interesting.
I have to look things up because either i am just not well versed in the subject at hand or it was before my time.
If FR is still going in 20 years, I will be 71 and people will be looking up things I remember from my teens and 20s that I mention :)
And they will also be looking up everything about all the other subjects I learned on here.

I won a contest by putting away 168 on a half shell in, I wanna say in 5 min. The following year I put a down a few less, and lost to two jar heads. On aside note, my son was born 9 months later. My wife swears this was cause and effect.

I’ve watched more than a few things i’ve been clued on in at this site.
It’s free, and if i don’t like it I turn it off.
