"Brazil moved from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia near the Amazon, and look at Canberra it's built between Sydney and Melbourne, and Kazakhstan moved their capital to closer to the centre of the country and also Myanmar moved to Naypyidaw,"

All necessitated by global warming and Trump.

“...moved their capital to closer to the centre of the country...”

The U.S. moved its capital from Philadelphia to a new city in the middle of the country in 1790. But then we’ve always been trailblazers.

No mention of globull warming in the article. Very surprising for these days.

The problem is Jakarta was built on a swamp.

Still, it's hard to believe they'd move the capital out of Java, where most of the people live.

They’ll just have the same problem wherever they set up the new capital.

The only answer is for the Indonesians living in the capital city to simply stop using water.

Instead of drinking water pumped from underground, they can drink bottled soda. That’s what makes Americans so big and strong, after all.

Instead of using water pumped from underground for landery and bathing, they can just rub dirt on it. Worked for our ancestors for thousands of years and they did ok.

This is such a crazy non sequitor, I really don’t know where to begin. Yes, Canberra is (sorta) mid-way between Sydney & Melbourne. But it was that way from the beginning. Canberra didn’t move from one designated location to another. Its always been where it has been. But hey? What do I know, I only lived there for 13 years.

They could save themselves a bunch of money and stop extracting water from the aquifers beneath Jakarta. But that would be too easy. Big government initiatives provide big opportunities for graft.
