I'm reminded of the leak of that "Access Hollywood" video which was supposed to sink Trump in October of 2016. It hardly moved the needle because he only talked about it a decade before running for president where as B.J. Clinton actually
did it.
Wasn't Trump's debate with Hillary three days later and he managed to collect a fair number of the ladies who were victims of Bill to attend as special guests?
THAT took some organization. Does anyone remember just how many DAYS Trump had to pull that off following the video bombshell?
Another reason I doubt he said anything of the sort about Mueller.

He did not say that about Mueller. He said that about Sessions. Because Sessions was the one ultimately responsible for having a special investigator in the first place.

Other way around ... Debate #1 was on Sept. 26, 2016
Debate #2 was on Wednesday Oct. 5th ... the "Access Hollywood" tape was released two days later, Friday October 7th, 2016 (I'll never forget that weekend)
Obviously, the Dem crew was planning to save the tape for the end of October, but they must have been so spooked by Hillary's lousy performance in both debates that they felt forced to release it early
