April 25 (UPI) -- Police in Arizona shared a photo of a driver caught cheating on the highway by using a dummy to fake a passenger in the carpool lanes.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety tweeted photos showing a man pulled over by police when they noticed his passenger in the high-occupancy vehicle lane was a mannequin dressed as a human woman.
The tweet said the man was pulled over on State Route 202 at Alma School Road.
"Another one Busted! Don't let this be you.... A driver was cited for HOV lane violation along the SR 202 at Alma School, for having a dummy masquerade as a passenger," the department tweeted.
HOV lanes are a freakin joke....I drove for 13 plus years on major hiways in the Pittsburgh area, where we had these dumbass hov lanes....in over a decade of driving, I saw maybe 20 cars in all those years....it is simply a waste of space.
What was a dam schiff-4-brains doing in AZ?
Just glad it’s not Florida again.
What would happen if you got caught making out with a dummy?
I'm glad that was clarified.
Having a dummy as a passenger not count for HOV lanes could be problematic in some blue leaning states?
Should have used a hoodie.................
Might as well get one of those sex robots, put the car in auto pilot and have a good time.
Looks like DeNiro................
AFAIK, we don’t have any in FL................
Brave intrepid cops intercepting fake people.
Meanwhile, real ones stream across the border and cause mayhem in their districts.
The only way a HOV lane can work is if the highway system is inadequate.
I used a motorcycle to commute in Seattle because I could use the HOV lane. I now live in KY. No HOV here. I love it.
I’ve seen ‘teens’ wearing hoodies in 100°F here in FLORIDA..................
“we dont have any in FL”
Not yet.
I think they are against the law......................
HOV Lanes: another stupid idea from Jerry Brown’s California.
You can watch Sigalert showing the freeways in the SF Bay Area clearing up within 15 minutes of the diamond lanes opening at 7 PM. Did that the other day with a friend of mine who was arguing that they cleared up because people were all home by 7. Wrong. The data showed very slow average speeds right up to the bell - which means they ain’t home yet! - and then 10 minutes later it was all green. Translation: the HOV lane was holding things back by reducing capacity.
All the idiots in the rest of the West copied California because you know, they’re cool. Wrong. They’re just in love with dumb non-solutions as they try to avoid building the infrastructure for the tens of millions of Mexicans and Chinese they say should live here.
Arizona should dump it and keep up the good work in Maricopa County of building the ring freeways as they grow. WITHOUT diamond lanes.
Lol! When I was young kid right out of college I got my first real job in Washington DC. Having grew up in rural West Virginia I had no idea about HOV lanes (or big city driving in general) in the slightest. For well over my first year there I drove to work in the HOV lane not understanding why it was always so much less crowded than the others and more people didn't use it. Finally one morning I had picked up a couple co-workers to go to a conference. One of them said, "Great, we got enough people, we can use the HOV lane!" I said, "Oh, you mean that lane I always use?" They rolled their eyes and slowly explained the concept of the HOV lane." guess I just got extremely lucky I never got pulled over.
