I invited my dear friend Garry Rodgers retired homicide detective with a second career as a forensic coroner to share a fascinating post about the real cause of Elvis Presleys death. Prepare to be wowed. Welcome to TKZ, Garry!
Elvis Presley suddenly dropped in the bathroom of his Graceland mansion on the afternoon of August 16, 1977. Elvis was rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was pronounced dead, then shipped to the morgue and autopsied the same afternoon. Three days later, the Memphis County coroner issued Elvis Presleys death certificate stating the cause as hypertensive cardiovascular disease with atherosclerotic heart disease a heart attack subsequent to high blood pressure and blocked coronary arteries.
It was a rush to judgment. Toxicology results soon identified ten pharmaceutical drugs in Elviss system. Codeine was at ten times the therapeutic level and the combination of other prescription drugs suggested a poly-pharmacy overdose. This revelation started immediate accusations of a cover-up and conspiracy theories quickly hinted at sinister criminal acts.
Four decades later, modern medicine and forensic science looked at the Presley case facts. The review indicated something entirely different from a heart attack or drug overdose really killed the King of Rock n Roll. It said Elvis Presley accidentally died after long-term complications from earlier traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). TBIs are known as silent, stalking, and patient killers.

It ain't that unusual.
First time I heard that Elvis had brain trauma injuries in his past. Drugs, obesity, hypertension and it appears Elvis heart just suddenly failed.
Well OK the drugs had a lot to do with it too.
My understanding is that Evlis died on the throne due to severe constipation caused by opiate addiction.
Not clickbait. It’s a blog for crime and thriller writers. Sorry.
I would have thought that over a period of time his diet (which was high in junk foods) probably killed him and he was lacking in exercise because he was lethargic from all of the prescription medications his doctor was allowing him to partake in.
I will stick with my theory that his history of coronary artery disease (high cholesterol/low fiber) led to a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and ventricular fibrillation with the immediate cause being an occlusive coronary thrombosis in the left anterior descending artery resulting from a ruptured cholesterol plaque. Boom! He hit the deck and expired within minutes. It is a fairly common occurance with people who have developed poor lifestyle practices.
Did Presley’s doctor ever go to jail for the prescriptions?
Well..... 256 pounds was Elvis’ last known body weight. His gilded stage coat had a high collar to hide his chins and he was known to feast on burnt bacon & mashed potatoes.
But when Elvis was drafted in 1958, he went. Served his country in Germany (I was assigned to his unit in 1981) as a tank driver and maintained a house in town to entertain his fellow soldiers. Some privilege but not that much.
IIRC it was a quack doctor who supplied him with drugs.
I have to admit that was pretty funny. 8>)
Yes. Being just a bit facetious.
Maybe.
I'm takin' a crap
It won't come out
“In one of his final performances before his tragic death, Elvis Presley delivered an incredible rendition of Unchained Melody during a concert in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 21, 1977.”

Keith Richards will probably live to 3 x 42.
LOL... I was just about to tell the story how Elvis is in the old folks home battling a mummy with a black JFK. I love that movie.
And....The TBI scare is just one more weapon in “The War Against Men and Boys” to turn boys into eunuchs.
He just went home...
I dunno, but Forrest Gump taught him how to dance ...
Not too many out there that know the “real” story...
