Try watching the first 3 seasons of “Victoria”. It’s like G.O.T. but with real historical people. Some of it is fictionalized, but it hews to history pretty closely.

All of the sexual hijinks and violence are in “Game Of Thrones” because the fourteenth century French monarchy was that way, and “Game of Thrones” is based upon Maurice Druon’s “Les Rois Maudits.”
