Wayne and Shuster did a Star Trek spoof (Star Schtick) at about the same time.

That Belushi piece made me think of drug legalization. For all intents and purposes it was legal for Belushi; he was never penalized for drug consumption and look where (and how) he wound up. As a kid in the 60s, I was fearful of being arrested and having a record that followed me around. That kept me clean, not to mention alive.

LOL!!

Was in college when SNL started. Parties would stop, TV would turn on when SNL came on.

One night a commercial came on, NBC’s “The battles of the T & A’” Women were ticked, men were happy until we figured out it was still part of SNL. It was hilarious.

Almost funny.

Infinitely better than anything they do today.

My question: who played Uhura?

Its interesting that they, in 1976, expected computers of the future to reply to questions via typed paper messages.

Interesting that the bodies had to lie where they could be viewed after their deaths (Revelation 11).

You were not born with a watch.

In the 1970s, there were lots of comedy albums with Star Trek bits. I heard this one on Dr. Demento, called "Star Trip" by the Congress of Wonders, and it remains the best one ever:
