The modern day PT Barnum is now saying he will start Tesla Auto Ins. very soon. The Rental car option will be $300 a year as it takes five months to get parts for repairs. The guy has cornered the market on misdirection, flashlights and flying pigs.

Apple may swoop in and buy it. Maybe Google. Probably another car company will buy it up.
St. Elon may sell the assets but keep the IP....licensing it to multiple car manufacturers.
The auto industry is already poised to introduce massive hybridization. Those that go all electric will only sell to city dwellers. Those that go plug-in hybrid (battery and ICE) will do better.
By St. Elon will come out on top and be called the pioneer of the electric car.

I like what Musk is doing with his launch systems. His landing of all 3 boosters on his heavy lift rocket is amazing.
Of his cars, I know little. Those huge banks of lithium batteries scares me. There have been many fires. I wouldn’t park one in the garage under my bedroom. I currently park a 1971 collectors car there. I check the area regularly. If I smell gas I know there could be a problem. How do I tell if the lithium batteries have an issue.
Here’s a question. Did he remove the Tesla’s batteries before launching it into solar orbit? Lot of weight, there.

On a local newspaper comment section, I said that nobody wants these cars and one of the fanbois went psycho on me. Told me that sales are in the top 5, this is the wave of the future, etc. I replied back that if sales are so great, why have I only seen three of them EVER? Believe me, ever since that exchange, I’ve been looking for them.
Fact is, the Tesla isn’t in the top 5 for sales. It’s not even in the top 20. I’d wager it isn’t in the top 50 but I couldn’t find a list that large. No surprise that Tesla fanbois are not only idiots, they’re liars, too.
Last summer we visited family near Palm Springs. I witnessed a very amusing sight of one of those $100,000 Tesla’s driving in 120 degree weather with ALL THE WINDOWS down. I finally realized that they could not turn on the air conditioning and make it home. I laughed all the way to the gas station where I filled up my gas tank with renewable energy (it renews to 100% every time I fill up the tank).
