Each atom has that chance .Since you have around 10 ^ 23 atoms in a typical handful that means a few decays every second. I know with Bismuth they had to watch a sample for about a week to even see one decay.
Just hope it doesn't happen when you're on a restroom break.

If only these ‘scientists’ would state all of their assumptions then the rest of us might be able to point out where they are going off the rails.
For instance, they want long ages and uniform decay rates to be the correct answer. They claim a volcanic eruption or lightning can ‘reset’ these radio isotope clocks. So more than likely these types of extreme events are speeding up their ‘uniform’ clocks by millions, billions or even trillions of apparent years.
