This is the first vanity I have ever posted on FR.
Today, while my wife and I were at the grocery, we got stuck behind an obvious Middle Eastern "immigrant."
He ran up a bill of over $400 in baby formula, cheese, and all sorts of other things. I could see the items being rung up as he was doing this. And then I watched him produce one WIC voucher after another to pay for all of this, and I watched the cashier zero out one item after another. This process took more than 20 minutes, and held up everyone else in line. He even started sending the checkout people to the back of the store to get more stuff for him so he could use up all the WIC vouchers. At the end everything had been zeroed out except for $9.73. Then he whips out his VISA card and pays for that on his credit card.
Why do we tolerate this? We just paid for all of this stuff for this guy, who obviously was not hurting for money. So does he re-sell it or what does he do?
Just curious, are you implying kaehurowing posted this thread to troll for racist comments?
Because I think this is a reasonable question to ask and emotion to feel.
What you don’t get to see are all the other give-aways:
free health care, dental care
subsidized or free housing
free weatherization programs, home heating assistance
free child care
free tutors for ESL students
free mental health counseling
more free food from food banks
free vocational training/college courses
free summer camp for the kids
There are 42 separate free programs for ‘poor people’ in my State.
You sure it was a VISA card? My brother used to have a credit card that looked like those food stamp cards, so he changed to a different card.
Good. These lazy moochers should be shamed to their faces.
They’re just buying the groceries American wont buy ... courtesy of the 50% who pay taxes today, and future generations credit cards.

I had a similar but slightly weirder experience.
In line behind a Latina whose cart was loaded brimming with food and stuff. Also 5 kids hanging on the cart. The cashier rings up the items and it is $380. The Latina produces a voucher thingy and the cashier says the store doesn’t accept it and hands it back. The Latina just hands it back to her, shrugging. The manager is called. He asked what the voucher is and the Latina just shrugs. The manager just looks at the cashier and says, ‘Ok, let her go.’ And she rolls out the door, spilling a beanlet or two on the way.
He was buying cheese?
There’s nothing I hate worse than cheese munchers.
Sitting there.....munching their cheese.....crumbs of cheese cascading down the front of their shirts.....starving mice looking at them with pitiful eyes.
I just hate em.

I wasn’t the only one angry. You could see it on the faces of the checkout clerk and two baggers drawn into this, but obviously the knew they couldn’t say anything so they just kept their mouths shut.
I was in a supermarket in Norfolk, VA. There was a young, well dressed Black couple checking out. They purchased over $200 worth of nothing but meat. Then paid for it with stamps.
I noticed they got into an Alfa Romeo sports car. I took down the tag number. The next work day I asked a woman who I worked with, how I should report it. She had worked for the welfare dept.
She told me it was pointless. She said they actually would investigate but it would turn out the car was borrowed etc. or they were buying for someone else.
That would be the equivalent to around $500 in today’s money.
We are now in the “looting state” of a dying Republic. This looks nothing, on ANY level, like the country I grew up in and I’m not that old.
Once the demographics tip over & they will soon enough, watch future president Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho or a close facsimile strut around the Capitol along with Alexandra Ocasio Cortez & Rashida Tlaib & gangs of like-minded idiots calling for a total dismantling of this nation & all of its culture & customs.
We have not seen anywhere near the chaos that is coming. Mostly, thanks to the 1965 Immigration Act, that allowed over 40 million LEGAL third world peoples to pour into the country & vote 80% of the time for Democrats.

Why not suggest what he should have done in that instance.
If we would turn back to God, he would spare us, but not until we do.
Take out your phone and start taking pictures. Get the guy’s/woman’s face. Follow them to their car and take a pic of the license plate. After all, they have to do something about welfare fraud, yes? No?
I found a wallet on the train once with TWO s.s. Checks in it! Concerned, I called the lady ( she had two different names other than her drivers license.) when I gave it to her, she opened it and exclaimed, “ where’s all the cash?” No thank you, ( obviously, the pickpocket had skimmed and tossed it)
Re: Being an immigrant? How did you know he wasn’t a legal resident or a full fledged U.S. citizen? And unlike SNAP, WIC has rather strict criteria for what can be purchased using the vouchers. The benefits are also restricted to pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5. Who I much prefer see getting help then the lay-about with a cart load of steak and ho-hos.
And are you assuming somebody who appears Middle Eastern could not possibly be here because they fled the horrors wrought by terrorists in that region. Might even be a Christian refugee? Hey Israelis are Middle Eastern. So they could even be Jewish.
