The ratings may actually be worse. I know people who have Comcast and sometimes when they turn their TV’s on the cable box had switched channels to CNN. I have seen this first hand.
Ratings don’t matter they are all on the deep state payroll as long as they keep to the script and they follow the narrative
Do the people who buttonhole you to tell you about their version of religion care if you like them?

Ratings (=ad income) is probably not important; they have “alternate financing sources”. And I’ll bet that the lefty advertisers pay way over the going rate per set of eyeballs anyway; perfect way to hide donations.
They have a monopoly or near-monopoly on airports. That’s how they make money.
Sounds like their writers are going to have to get very creative with their fake news.

Well, duh, it’s always been that way. They exist to be propaganda, everything else is secondary. They get their money from being in cable packages. I sure they don’t like being last, but they’ll keep on with their “prime directive” regardless.
