I think Boeing is going to take a loss on this plane big time.

“There is no way to disengage the FLCS.”

The FLCS can fail and it can also take a hit from AA and become disabled. At that point the pilot is on manual trim and the wheel comes into play.

Also, when flight control surfaces are damaged or disabled the FLCS is sometimes disengaged to prevent it from crashing the aircraft.

Fake news?

I guess you missed the two Boeing 737-800 LawnDarts in the news recently.

If you can’t find the F-16 video then you’re not looking very hard.

Try again.

There is a video of a dead-stick landing but the FLCS was still operational.

It’s a small wheel but it’s still round and it’s called a wheel.

The F-16 has a manual trim panel. Roll, yaw and pitch. Trim wheels. Except the yaw is a knob.

The F-16 has a manual pitch override switch that will disable the flight control system temporarily It is spring activated switch. You likely could not land holding the switch as your hands would be busy with the throttle grip and the side stick.

T-37, the “flying dog whistle” At least the T-2 was pressurized. But I hated summers in Meridian. Wearing all the jet gear, flight suit, g-suit, survival vest, helmet, gloves and boots out to the airplane that was baking in 95 degrees and all of the jet engine exhaust blowing more hot air on you. Along with smoking, drinking a gallon of coffee every day, and heavy drinking on the weekends, it’s amazing that we didn’t have more heat strokes. But, all in all it was my most satisfying tour. Produced a lot of good pilots for the Navy/Marine Corps.

“The F-16 has a manual pitch override switch that will disable the flight control system temporarily “

That was put in to enable recovery from deep-stall spins.

it dies not disable the FLCS.

Where does it say it is spring-loaded?

Roger that, sir.

Heat stroke, indeed. . .Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas, flew every day for 30-days and every day was at least 100. . .never had so much hard work and fun at the same time.

I recall the number of salt rings on the back of your flight suite would be how many flights you did that day.

Cheers. . .
