You are correct, sir. Middle finger of the left hand, and Nan's is third finger of the right. I think there are allowances made for the elders of the cabal, since they've probably carved their fingers down to the nerves.

I still can't figure out how one might cut a finger like that. I'm a pretty 'crafty' person - lots of knives, saws, machines, etc. My hands and knuckles are all kinds of scarred. Over the years, I've had to stitch in over 30 sutures, most of them myself, for various incidents.* For decades of that, I don't have any scars on the places these freaks do the spirit cooking thing. On either hand.

*That reminds me, I need to get a couple of those medical stapler things for my kits. Anyone have any experience with that.
