Marine Le Pen has asserted that neither she nor her party want France's withdrawal from the eurozone.
Speaking at a gathering of her supporters on Saturday ahead of the European elections, the National Rally (RN) leader said that her platform would now look to change the EU from within.
Nationalists, Eurosceptics, and far-right parties are increasing their voter base all across Europe. The former French presidential candidate wants these parties to join forces in the European Parliament as part of one single "powerful parliamentary group".
She even spoke of a "fusion" of three factions: the Europe of Nations and Freedom bloc, where Le Pen's party, the Italian Lega and the Austrian FPO have worked together, and the European Conservatives and Reformers, currently dominated by the British Conservative party and Polands governing party Law and Justice [PiS). Such a grouping would also include the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy bloc, which includes Germanys Alternative for Germany (AfD), Britains UKIP and the Five Star movement in Italy.
But its not all plain sailing, especially with regard to the Russian question.
Polands Law and Justice Party [PiS] is uncomfortable with the Russia-friendly sentiments of many right-wing populists with even French leader Le Pen admitting: "It gets complicated with the Poles.
Le Pen is also on a different page to the German AfD when it comes to her demand to end the independence of the European Central Bank and her opposition to current free trade regulations.

Well, be prepared to hand over your sovereignty in a slow yet inexorable fashion. If France is in the “Eurozone” 100 years from now, it will resemble the same relationship that U.S. states have to the Federal government (namely that of a mere administrative extension/wing).
a lot of these pro-sovereignty Europeans, particularly those hailing from more powerful countries like France (So excluding the likes of Poland) are ultimately on a power trip and in the long term, envision to rivaling or overtaking US pre-eminence in the world in the long term. And thats what this sort of pan-Europeanism is about even from the right wing.
Sounds harmless, until they sell their souls to China or Russia to make that happen, as Italy seems to have done with China as of late with populist Salvini at the helm.
Being right is always "Complicated." It's gotten the Poles in a lot of trouble over the centuries.
This is a good plan. Except for one point - Le Pen isn’t “far right” - her plan, like PiS in Poland is big state (welfare etc.) but nationalist. To a lesser extent the same is the AfD. So leftist-nationalist is a better term
and this is good that it will push the EU against Islam.
Bishop - the thing about “France” is that it is an over-centralized state that has destroyed regional ethnicities like Corsicans, Basques and Bretons and regional sub-ethnicities like langue-d’Oc, Gascogne etc.
The EU is built and functioning like the Old German federation or the Old Swiss Confederation - states that are completely independent except that they pool together for defense and for monetary policy. Think of it as an extended Switzerland.
the FRENCh are the ones who want to rival US pre-eminence. The other EU countries only want to rival the US economically and innovation.
Correct. I’m always ticked off with the Polish fascination for France - France played Poland in the 1700s and Napoleon exploited Polish sentiment for his own gain
