American authorities have arrested a former US Marine who is allegedly part of a group that raided North Korea's embassy in Madrid, reports say.
Christopher Ahn will reportedly appear in a Los Angeles court.
It would be the first arrest over the incident, which happened in February days before US President Donald Trump met North Korea's Kim Jong Un in Vietnam.
Free Joseon, a self-styled human rights group, says it was involved.
US federal agents have also raided the apartment of Adrian Hong, one of the group's leaders, says the Washington Post.

On 22 February, a group of at least 10 people stormed North Korea's embassy in Spain, allegedly identifying themselves as "members of a human rights movement seeking to liberate North Korea".
During the incident several embassy staff were held hostage, including an attaché whom they tried persuading to defect.
Members of the group allegedly made off with several computers and hard drives, data from which was allegedly passed on to American authorities.
Free Joseon - formerly known as Cheolima Civil Defense - insists that its members were invited to the consulate.
A Spanish court document released last month has named leaders of organisation, some of whom are believed to live in the US. The court is seeking their extradition.

WOW, the rest of the story of why the talks broke down??
Yeah invading an embassy is a bad idea, even if the intention is good.
I think this was a “Hold my beer!” op by amateurs.
Some are speculating that this little caper was planned by our own CIA. Maybe to get rid of Kim before Trump edges any closer to a peaceful compromise. Crazier things have already happened during this administration, and for crazier reasons.
This was a deep state — anti trump raid to screw things up. This man should be shot on tv. GO TRUMP!!Vindicated and our national hero!!Build the wall and KICK ASS!!
Attacking the embassy was not going to accomplish anything, and it didn’t, just made N. Korea mad.
It was a stupid thing to do.
Uncle Sam’s misguided children
Paranoia
Maybe to get rid of Kim before Trump edges any closer to a peaceful compromise.

More likely just to queer the meeting with Kim.

Ya know...? That theory is actually not crazy.
That would make sense.
Deep states operatives mission, disruption. NKO missile test and rejection of SecState consequential. Damage done. Players exposed. Directors known
A former US Marine? So was Lee Harvey Oswald!

100%.
about time. This group is supposed to be ‘sheltering’ Kim’s (cousin/brother?). They declared themselves the exiled govt of NK. And if memory serves correctly, “trashed” the embassy (threw some papers on the floor)
Sadly, the CIA being involved is not speculation but a good chance.
We have much to distrust them for. Since the beginning, the agency has become more and more a rogue group that answers to no one. The CIA might be an unconstitutional organ of a misguided government. Meaning well but unable to control the players/agents who go beyond the “spy vs. spy” game but are into the POLITICAL BULLSHIT that pervades presently.
James Comes is a perfect example of the type. FBI, CIA blended into a rogue outfit. James Clapper, (how the hell did that jerk ever get promoted to General?), is another “servant” that served only himself and his handlers. I am embarrassed that he was in my Air Force!!
A POX on Comey and Clapper, both traitors the that deserve time in Leavenworth.
Lee Wolosky, a lawyer with Boies Schiller Flexner and a former State Department official, issued a statement on the group’s behalf Wednesday that said that “the United States and its allies should support” groups that oppose the North Korean government.
“The reported comments of the Spanish judge are misinformed in critical respects and the decision to disclose the names of those opposing a regime that routinely assassinates its opponents is deeply troubling,” Wolosky said on behalf of “Provisional Government of Free Joseon.”
i.e. he is an ambassador for PGFJ, nothing else.
