After pleading not guilty earlier this week, a source tells PEOPLE that the couple resents how the case is playing out in the public eye. “This is putting unspeakable stress on her and her family,” a source close to Loughlin tells PEOPLE. “They’re having to play this all out publicly, and they’re fair game for jokes and memes, but also outraged [by] people who are saying that they are cheaters.” “They’re being destroyed,” the source adds.

I would argue that it isn’t about “white privilege” as much as it is about green privilege ($$) and the pedestal upon which all the adoring Hollywood fans have placed them. The same behavior is exhibited by other Hollywood types of all races.

Just my $0.000002 worth. But all the dollars being spent on this, with everyone acting like the education system itself is some beacon of integrity is pathetic.
Is cheating wrong; absolutely. Is accepting the bribes wrong; absolutely. Yet in all of those, where are the institutions being held accountable? Even looking at their acceptance practices, they showed favor to one group or another and exhibited bias which garnered them funding in the form of grants. Let’s just call a spade a spade here.
Hell, there is probably more investigative power being applied on this than on Omar’s questionable background and ties to terrorists.

I knew someone who had shoplifted and finally got caught and when I made some comment about stealing or a thief, she was upset. She wsn’t a *thief*. The big bad corporations over charge and they’re stealing from us, and yada, yada, yada.

One thing I have come to realize in life is how the media picks its targets and shapes its news reporting. Everything is shaded to fit the narrative. Nixon was a crook, Reagan was senile (even in office), W was stupid, Palin a bimbo, and Trump a traitor. The rich are out to screw you and the government is here to help.
People magazine is a low end celebrity worship rag. While it might be more than fake news, I would not be shocked to learn this story is completely made up. It feeds class envy and sells magazines.
The elite are out of control, have been for quite awhile. It's fascinating that robbing opportunities for their children, at the expense of those who deserved them, is what tipped the outrage scale! That, and Jussie's scheme to vilify Trump supporters at the cost of making Chicago even more a city of hate.
For many of the entitled class, it’s “bling”, no different than the latest fashion item.
Most people don’t go around mentioning what college they attended. These entitled kind of people do, along with what handbag they’re carrying, what car they drive, what designer label they have on their clothes. The value of their education is only for show.
Nobody that looks like Lori should be charged with such a goofy crime that the government commits every stinking day with affirmative action.

They aren’t cheaters anymore than the dishonest racial qualities and quotas set by colleges and universities
I have a friend who at the time of his endeavor to enter college 10 years ago was denied over and over.
His crime? Being latino, good looking, nothing but straight A’s and 4.2 GPA, a resident of his state, excelled at every sport including being a 4th degree in Tae Kwon Do, involved in charities, etc.
It wasn’t until many very many prominent Silicon Valley friends write letters on his behalf he finally gained admission into a prestigious university.
His dorm mates being from out of state and, in fact, another country bragged how easy it was for them to gain admission and they aren’t paying for their education
How is that fair to families whose taxes pay for these universities
Oh, my friend graduated with honors, one of the others left college because he actually couldn’t hack it and the other was only an average student...
