One thing I have come to realize in life is how the media picks its targets and shapes its news reporting. Everything is shaded to fit the narrative. Nixon was a crook, Reagan was senile (even in office), W was stupid, Palin a bimbo, and Trump a traitor. The rich are out to screw you and the government is here to help.
People magazine is a low end celebrity worship rag. While it might be more than fake news, I would not be shocked to learn this story is completely made up. It feeds class envy and sells magazines.
