Reminds me of when George Will was on the BOD of the Orioles when the team had the longest losing streak in the MLB.

Paraphrasing, he said "[The board] realized that we can lose just as easily with cheap new rookie players as we can with existing expensive veteran players" in explaining the Board's decision to fire a bunch of people.

We fared pretty well, Gina. A twister hit down in Troy, but no fatalities, just a lot of buildings torn up. A Queen Mother thunderclap woke me about 9 AM. I told Connie we'd go to revival service this morning if the weather was agreeable, but the front was on top of us. Didn't matter - they posted that they were livestreaming the service so people didn't have to get on the roads, and they post it all on Facebook that evening, anyway. It's just gusty and cooler out there now.

Vision, you folks up there have a tornado watch up until 3:30 AM. A secondary front formed just a whisker to the southeast of us, and stretches all the way to Lake Erie. Severe thunderstorm watch out from Atlanta to Morgantown, WV. Looks like it's just passing into the far western VA/WV/PA environs, and should hit you in a couple hours or so. Batten down the hatches - it's kicking off some tornadoes on the leading edge.

I scooted by some Trinitarian church this evening (with a woman pastor, just saying) with a new electronic sign and the message flashes “PALM SUNDAY: Love comes to town. On a donkey.” WTH? Apparently anything passes for Christianity nowadays.

Just because Christ rode into Jerusalem on an ass, it doesn't automatically make him a Democrat.😜 And there's no such thing as 'Sunday Go To Meetin' clothes in this church. The pastor will wear a Hawaiian shirt and Uggs if he feels like it, and one of the deacons (my brother-in-law 🙄) will wear flip-flops and a T-shirt if he's running late. The first holiday service I attended there years ago, I (God forbid) wore slacks and a tie. I got looks like I was from Mars. Sorry, I grew up going to a Methodist church and you didn't dress like a hayseed if you had church-going clothes.
