For those who didn’t click through...they did not put the American Flag on the cars. What they did is put some white stars on a blue background with a red and a white stripe within the hollow letters “police”. It isn’t a flag but rather a suggestion or reference to the American flag.

When I was little, I remember going through Laguna Beach riding in the car from Long Beach to San Diego. There was this odd character who would wave at all of the cars going by. I think they put up a statue in his memory.
