Defense Attorneys in Dallas said some of their clients had their guns, motorcycles, vehicles and other property returned to them once their case was refused, Harris said for some reason he's still left without answers. One of the Twin Peaks bikers arrested said even though it's been three years since the deadly shooting, police still have not given him back his personal belongings that were seized.
Patrick Harris case was thrown out by District Attorney Abel Reyna, but he said he's having a hard time putting this all behind him without having what he said is legally his.

Harris is a Ph.D. student in Austin and a member of the grim guardian motorcycle group. On the day of the shooting he had a knife and his motorcycle vest taken away as evidence by police. When he learned his case was one of the many refused by the District Attorney's office he was relieved, but immediately started calling to see when his belongings would be returned. Harris said he was told by a Waco Police detective in order to get his thing it had to be approved by District Attorney Abel Reyna. He and his lawyers called the District Attorney's office but said they haven't received a response.
"That's just frustrating within itself that even when it's over it's not even over," Harris said. "Now I can't get my property back, so I can't physically put it behind me until I know everything is back in my possession that im the owner of."
In 2017, Harris filed a civil lawsuit against Waco Police, District Attorney Abel Reyna, and the Twin Peaks Corporation. That lawsuit is still pending.
According to Waco Police, in order to release property, they have to get approval from the District Attorney's Office.
Channel 6 reached out to The district Attorneys office, and was told the decision to release property is made by the arresting agency not their office.
Yup, same if you get a gun seized for any reason, no mater how legitimate your ownership:
In the overwhelming number of cases, they make it as hard and expensive on you as possible.
It’s basically badged thievery.
Either they lost it or some LEO “fat fingered” it. It’s a common occurrence. (Must have been a nice knife.)
Coughing stuff back up without a whimper might buy some leniency for the city when the civil suits really get going.
This made the Duke Lacrosse fake rape hoax look small scale.
Before posting, I scrolled through the replies. I found that there were four other responses but no response from Texas Gator. What gives?
They can forget about getting their property back. Other cops have their motorcycles and guns. And what cash they had was also shared by the police.
Thanks for update
Cops: Hey! Lookit! A beautiful SUV. Let’s grab it because, you know, ....
I can’t remember when TG has replied on a Waco thread. Its been a long, long time.
So when do the civil suits begin?
The civil suits cant start until the modified, limited hangout has finished. Six more years.
The property probably was sold long ago, the cops there won’t admit that.
Would explain their apparent reluctance to return it.
You watch. Soon some politician will demand an investigation which will take about 6 years and conclude the entire fiasco was the fault of some low level flunky who conveniently had a heart attack recently while mowing his lawn. Civil suits will have to be leveled against his pitiful estate, which, of course, is the entire point of modified, limited hangout. Thank me in 6 years.
...and TG hasnt been back because he realizes I have been right about this crap since day #1.
Whacko is such a $hit hole! Decent Texans should gather there and demand that it start behaving like the rest of the state.
They can investigate all they want, the lawyers ain’t waiting six years.
Bingo. Fat fingered.
A few days ago, the DA dismissed the Twin Peaks cases so high time they all get their stuff back. Too bad they can’t get their reputations back. Or their jobs. Or their lost wages. Or the houses, etc. they’ve lost.
Agreed
Decent Texans should gather there and demand that it start behaving like the rest of the state.
except Austin. It's a different kind of shithole.

Yeah, used to go to Austin on business. It’s like Berkeley without SF Bay, or Boulder, Colorado without the Rockies. There aren’t even any $hit kickers there so for Texas, it’s a breed apart.
They wont be able to file a civil suit until the investigation is over.
