YouTube star Olivia Jade Giannulli is "devastated" by the allegations her parents are facing in the college admissions scandal. "Olivia is devastated and completely embarrassed. She feels like she's lost nearly all of her friends because of this. She's barely speaking to her parents," a friend who has been in communication with her told CNN. Giannulli's parents, actress Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are among 33 parents accused of paying bribes for their children to attend prestigious institutions.

And her parents spend half a million buck in bribes so that she could be admitted to that paragon of academic excellence - USC.
Why good is money if you can't use it to enhance yourself and family?
Oops: What good
What is the over and under of her doing porn in a year or two?
Its really hard to feel sorry for this girl. I dont believe for a minute she didnt know what her parents did. She may not have known they were breaking a whole bunch of laws. After all this kid looks about a sharp as a pound of wet liver.

I bet with some good detective work, someone could find a college party she attended where the sex was taped for posterity.
Olivia Jade could come over my place i guess.
rent a few movies, order a pizza, bottle of wine.
We could talk about this..
I don’t disagree with you that she knew some of what was happening. But I disagree that she wanted it. She clearly did it for her parents. She had no aspirations for USC or college at at all. She did not intend to take it seriously or go to classes. She had a good career without college. She was an A-lister all by herself within her millennial age group.
This whole thing is a result of her parent’s feeling of inferiority for never going to college. They did not know that college is what other people do to get as well connected as they got without college. College is a scam. They take your kid and let them party for 4 years at huge costs. But they do not really teach them anything that is not readily available on Google or DuckDuckGo.
The sad thing here, is that these two parents ruined their own million dollar careers, their daughters’ careers and at a huge cost. It did not have to happen. Her daughter was not going to get anything from USC. Our society says that colleges make you better, but colleges only identify great kids and take credit for the smarts these kids already have. Companies do hire people with college degrees. But that is because college admission can weed out young people in a way that companies can’t. So companies rely on college admissions as a filter that is either too costly or not legal for companies to do on their own.
But I disagree that she wanted it. She clearly did it for her parents.
She said as much in one of her YouTube videos. Said publicly that she was going to spend 4 years partying.

As my grandfather used to say:Stupid is supposed to hurt.

Stupid is supposed to hurt.
I am going to use that. Its my favorite quote of the week.
Olivia Jade flat out and publicly stated that she didn’t give a rip about college except for the party scene.
Very commendable... (sigh)
Mommy and daddy just made the inevidible failure happen sooner.
Dysfunction abounds in this family. It is up to this Olivia to rise from the ashes but... since she has never had to lift a finger her entire life up to this point nor has received proper instruction from the parents... it is very doubtful.
Univ. administrators are whores... any money from anywhere is their objective
Education? Standards? Not so much
“She feels like she’s lost nearly all of her friends because of this.” Sweetie Pie they weren’t really YOUR friends. They were friends of the person they thought you were. Think of them as the leading men your mom gets to kiss at the end of a Hallmark movie.
Of course, she had to know. All those dumb kids knew. They’ve grown up learning that money buys everything.
USC = University of Spoiled Children
Olivia won’t have to rise from the ashes. While pappa may go to jail he owns a very successful business that will continue and keep his daughters very comfortable.
Also the daughter’s internet career wasn’t based on her ability, but on the basis of her parents wealth and notoriety.
She was born on 3rd base and thought she hit a triple. She may not make it home, but she isn’t going to have to go back to the batter’s box and run the bases on her own.
Here's a clue bat, darlin' - they weren't your friends... ;-)
I am waiting on the indictments of the heads of these colleges. They certainly knew all about the bribery.
“I am waiting on the indictments of the heads of these colleges. They certainly knew all about the bribery.”
I am not totally sure of that. I think they knew this exists to some extent. They are told to get kids that will make the school look good. They probably were happy to get Olivia Jade, a Youtube star with rich and famous parents. The president of USC did not care too much how she got in. But if USC students went home to say that they lived in a dorm with a star or the kid of a star, that raises USCs cache.
What I don’t think the university president understood, is how many people were paid off along the way. And how much the total cost was. As president you don’t have to ask questions. You just work with results. At least until they throw it in your face. Then you need to simulate caring.
