A Break From Serious Discussions SciFi Series That Didn't Get a Proper Chance
Why they should have had that chance? Why they failed?
From Wikipedia
“....
The first season consists of ten episodes and premiered on Netflix on February 2, 2018.
On July 27, 2018, the series was renewed for a second season of eight episodes.
......”
Still available on Netflix?
Same with Voyager. I kept watching hoping that Chikotay would don a red uni.
They did not air the pilot of Firefly, and aired other episodes out of sequence. They pulled the plug before the fact. Suits do not get sci-fi.
Yes that’s clear they don’t!
Even on cable channels that are supposed to be SciFi!
Thank you. I didn’t know that they did the final episode after the filming ended and then the series was canceled. That makes more sense of what I called “a jump the shark” ending and, as you said, it did provide a closure to the series.
I really think your right. The Foundation done right would be awesome. They keep rolling Dune out. Would like to see the Mote in Gods Eye as a movie.
I dunno, Foundation was pretty cerebral and talky, IIRC. The major space battles happened off screen. Not sure if it would translate to film well.
Harlan Ellison wasn’t the first with the concept of a ‘Generation Ship.’
Same here!

An application of the ‘Deep Fake’ technology could resurrect favorite characters for new adventures. Just need true-to-original scripts.
...”I remember thinking why aren’t the other countries invading the United States in mass...”

One would think that would be a possibility.
There was one scene on one episode when the power briefly came back on in the fictional town of Jericho, Kansas.
The TV show a news in anchor in China reading the news with a map of the United States behind him, showing concentric rings over every city that experienced a nuclear blast.
On another episode, a huge crate with supplies landed in Jericho by parachute. The crate said it was a gift from the people of China (I doubt if this would happen in reality).
The crate also had signs in English which said, “Don’t Fight.”
I think they meant “with each other.” In later episodes Jericho came under mortar attack from the neighboring town...I think it was called Newbern. The two towns went to war with each other.
I doubt that CGI and motion capture are mature enough to replace actors. Quite a few producers and directors though eagerly await the day when that is so.
Every morning my wife and I wake up and say we need a new “sleeve”
Here’s one no one mentioned. It was a pretty decent SciFi series - Andromeda. Starring Kevin Sorbo, etc.
Comments?
Sorry typo - decent meant to recent!
Decent = recent
I think the problem with American TV is that theyre addicted to ratings
