There's a skunk under my deck and I'm not sure how to deal with it.
Trap it again and have the trapper take it far, far away.

Shoot it. Now before it has little skunks. Not kidding. They are tough to get rid of. Short of taking it 20 miles away, it will come back.
I would be inclined to try and trap it again and dispose of it but that would leave babies under the deck that would die and continue to stink up the place.
Any thoughts would be appreciated........
As a side note, considering the effort it gave to re-excavate the entrance hole, it's quite likely that it does have babies under the deck.......
Tell that skunk the Mueller Report is being released in its entirety.

Throw stuff at it til it runs into your garage, then close the door and leave it for a month or so.

Get a female skunk to trap it and lure it out. Anway, that worked on Pepe LePew in the cartoons. OoLaLa.
Trap it again and shoot it this time, we have repeatedly tried to release them, far, far from home and somehow they always come back.
It may already have, that's my concern. Don't want dead babies rotting under the deck.......
I’d leave it alone. This is the time of year when little skunks are born. A few weeks after this happens they will usually wander off to more suitable grounds.
Do you exterminate skunks as you do bloggers? There might be a second career for you here! Ha ha.
“Hot Tabasco,” and you want to know how to discourage a skunk?
Look for one of those pest repellents with pepper in it. A bottle of tabasco or any hot pepper sauce ought to help.
In the meantime....maybe sprinkle some of the Hot Tabasco on the entrance.
Never touch a skunk. Rabies is too common.
1) Shoot and shovel.
2) Never speak of it again.
you can either put some fox urine under the deck to make it seem unsafe or just leave it alone. There was a skunk under our deck for years. Occasionally the cat would mess with it..but aside from that who cares? Unless you have a dog or something that will continue to mess with it.
