ThriveNYC was a mismanaged mess from the beginning

A signature mental-health program funded by First Lady Chirlane McCray’s $1.2 billion ThriveNYC initiative was so badly mismanaged during its first 18 months that it may have done more harm than good, a report said Tuesday.

A dozen former clinicians who worked for the Mental Health Service Corps — a program aimed at bringing social workers and psychologists to needy communities — described mismanagement from the very beginning of the program in 2016, Politico NY reported.

As I've said here before, DumblASSio's wifey had absolutely NO qualifications to administer this program or distribute such an enormous amount of taxpayer funds. Being his wife was apparently the only qualification he required. As the article states, personnel wasted time by sitting around all day, doing nothing. People with second language skills, instead of being placed where those skills would come in handy, were placed in locations where their second language was not used. Etc., etc. A giant FUBAR on our dime.

By putting his utterly unqualified wife in charge of this massive program, which she turned into a boondoggle, DumblASSio gave everyone a bird's eye view of HIS administrative skills, which are virtually non-existent. Every single day, one reads of yet another controversy with this guy, more charges leveled against him for some additional corruption, his destruction of the few remaining neighborhoods which are nice by placing jails and homeless shelters in them, etc. And he wants to be President? Guy can't manage a lemonade stand.

Insider buzz is that Blobbio is ruled by his wife---that the two work hand in hand to make public policy decisions. (Earlier news reports say Police Commissioner Bratton cautioned DeBlob not to bring his wife to the crucial meeting held to redress grievances of five cop unions Blobbio had slandered. Then.... boom...Bratton was ousted). RESUME ENHANCEMENT PROGRESSIVE-STYLE During DeBlobbio's campaign, his wife Chirlane I. McCray was billed as a writer, poet, editor, communications professional, and political figure who published poetry and worked in politics for the Clintons.

THE REAL STORY Mrs DeBlobbio loudly declared her lesbianism in a magazine article---she was in a black feminist lesbian group and wrote poetry about being a lesbian. Politicker noted her husband's campaign website doesn't reference her background as an avowed lesbian and a lesbian activist or lesbian poet: It notes her affiliation with the Combahee River Collective, omitting mention of the group’s lesbian roots, referencing it as "a pioneering black feminist collective."

The two met while both worked for the Dinkins campaign. She says she had a nose ring and wore African garb when he spotted her and was completely smitten. She never told him she was a lesbian. And later said after their marriage she was still attracted to women. During the mayoral campaign, she was asked about her lesbian lifestyle----she retorted she "didn't understand the question." The Blobbio's honeymooned in Communist Cuba and picked coffee beans w/ Sandinistas (then America's arch-enemies). The New York Post ran a cartoon depicting the couple in bed, McCray on the phone telling someone, "I used to be a lesbian, but my husband, Bill de Blasio, won me over," while her husband lay beside her clad in sexy lingerie.

Mismanaged? Or, on purpose.

It is easier to skim money out of a program if it is chaos.

The Democrats have perfected the feel good programs where the government steps in and provides money for some “good” cause yet nothing ever gets fixed, even after billions of dollars have been spent.

Why is that? Simple,they don’t want to fix anything, they just want public funds that are easy to divert with little or no accountability.

In the late 60s I was a Peace Corps trainee (I was ‘deselected’) scheduled to go to Afghanistan. The language training was intense and very good, except for one thing—we learned Dari/Farsi/Persian and everyone was placed in Pashtu-speaking areas. Pashtuns resent Persian-speakers. Virtually the whole class left after a month—a complete waste of time and money.

As seen with the 0Barry administration, they are so incompetent, they cannot realize that there are skills necessary to make ‘things’ work.

A dem/socialist gets into office, creates new “service” or fires the heads of existing service orgs, then fills the leadership positions with friends/bank rollers.

The new “leaders” proceed to create new management positions and/or remove the existing managers and hire their friends, family, favor holders, etc.

Another example, in the 90’s, DC didn’t have potable water. How was that possible?

Typical of how “International Economic Development” NGOs reports of “success”, so will the Thrive program be reported by NYC officials.

That will not be in any way that will identify actual results. It will be merely in what was spent and the kinds of things it was spent on; on how many different resources, including different human resources, were employed, and the specific work they were employed in; on how many recorded “visits” of workers and customers; ect., ect., ect. But for whom and where actual “success” can be found to have occurred??, THAT you will never get from official NYC reports on the Thrive program.

Mrs Obama had the same kind of “successful” program regarding hospitals in Chicago. It was recorded as spending a lot of money and a lot of manhours. That was called success. While it did nothing for nobody and Mrs Obama was actually there in name only more than actually there. Oh, but she was well compensated.
