Ridgefield? Really?? The game is cancelled because morons poured gasoline on the field..
From the state that gave us Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy as United States Senators.
They are wishing the game was just rescheduled now.
Silly people.
Everyone knows you’re supposed to use jet engines for that.
Happened more than once.

Grounds Crew Sets Fire To Baseball Field To Dry It
“It seemed like a good idea at the time” is a phrase that doesn’t bode well.
But rarely has there been so obviously not a good idea as burning a baseball
field with diesel fuel to dry it out after it rains.
That’s exactly what the local baseball association in St. Albert’s (Alberta)
did. And yes, it’s Canada. If you already guessed that, so did everyone else.
“What usually takes a day, day and a half for Mother Nature to take care of,
we did in half an hour,” Gerry Peterson said after his crew spread diesel
fuel on the field and ignited it last week.
I can’t think of any possible repercussions from something like that. Except,
you know, contaminating the field with fuel. Which, wouldn’t you know it,
is just what happened. The field was shut down by the town as an environmental
risk, and won’t be available for the rest of the season.
But the field’s totally dry now.
It’s gasoline. It turns into vapor and floats away. The soil is not contaminated. In a few days there would not even be a smell or residue. They spent $50k to settle down the helicopter moms.
If there is enough water you wont get much drying. Pour a cup of gas in a coffee can half full of water. Light it let it burn out check how much water is left. The vapor burns above the liquid. Youd need the gas to soak into the dirt to get this to kinda work.

CBS: Men Charged With Using Gas To Dry Baseball Field
A Naperville Little League team manager and coach have dates pending in Napervilles
municipal court after being charged with using gasoline in an attempt to burn off
excess water on a baseball diamond at the Nike Park Sports Complex.
...They apparently did so in an attempt to speed evaporation of water from the
field following a stretch of unusually rainy weather.
A Naperville Fire Department official said Friday the effort did not have its
desired effect and instead contaminated the soil in which ballplayers would
be standing, running or sliding.
The parents are mostly graduates of that public school
and they sent their kids to the same school that effed their brains up.
NOW do you see what is wrong with America ?
I’ve seen it done to dry only the dirt of the infield, but that was it. It was little league, too. Smaller field.
im thinking its time for a world war to weed out the stupid. Theres getting to be way too much of it.
In the words of Bart Simpson, “We need another Vietnam to thin out their ranks out a little.”
Well the left always think the laws they push apply only to other folks...
Yes that would work for sure.
It did. This chopper was used to dry out a sodden field in Alabama before a college game, when the picture was taken.
“They are now qualified to burn the barrels of latrine crap”
Staff that was NCOIC of the police detail in my battalion was known to Snuffies as Doddy-O-Doh. A lackluster performance of stirring by someone on the detail never failed in his giving a hearty demonstration of stirring; “this is how you do it!” All the while we stood upwind with strained straight faces.
S/Sgt. Doddy had been so-so platoon sgt. in a line company. Then came the night he called in a fire mission on the company. Confused that pesky gun-to-target azimuth with his as FO. No casualties but a highly pissed CO didn’t wait for daylight. He called an emergency evac “right now” to remove this guy from the field. Doddy did find his niche as Police Sergeant.
General Question must be asked before any peoples lives are ruined - in the 21st century, are everyday people supposed to be hazmat experts?
